Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and his wife, Landra, are suing the manufacturer of the exercise band that slipped or snapped, leading to the Nevada Democrats eye injury.
According to court documents filed in Clark County, Nev., Reid alleges that the injury resulted from a faulty exercise resistance band, causing more than $50,000 in damages.
As a result of the TheraBand breaking or slipping out of his hand, Plaintiff Harry Reid has suffered and continues to suffer from severe pain and injuries including, but not limited to, loss of vision in his right eye, a concussion, broken orbital bones, severe disfigurement and bruising to his face, hand injuries, facial lacerations, scarring, and broken ribs, according to the complaint, which was obtained by Nevada journalist Jon Ralston.
The New Years Day accident has led to Reid going blind in his right eye, and he has been asked repeatedly if he would seek damages from the manufacturer.

Buffoon.
Severe disfigurement to that face? Anything would improve it.
$50,000 in damages is very low. Makes me think this is a face saving bogus lawsuit to cover-up the real cause of his injuries. Rumors abound that he got in a fist fight with his brother.
Trust me, I live in this area. There’s some tough looking “exercise equipment” around here. If a treadmill loans you money, you’d better pay them back!
He might want to give the money to his brother who is actually responsible for the injuries..
So he finally filed a suit against his brother, aka exercise equipment.
“As a result of the TheraBand breaking or slipping out of his hand . . . “
Harry doesn’t know whether it broke or whether it slipped out of his hand?
Fraud!
Old people are sometimes stupid. The guy has hurt himself before. Does he have a death wish?

Yes, I also thought that $50,000 is a very low figure for someone as important and influential as Dingy Harry. Besides, if you start that low, how can you agree to “compromise”? No smart tort lawyer would agree to that.
Yeah chump change, probably a qid-pro quo involved.
Whenever I get into a contest with the treadmill at the Y, the treadmill always wins. However, I have never had a facial injury.
Well, I have wondered why he had not filed a lawsuit up till now.
I know all the rumors that some Mafia goon types beat him up. Or that his brother beat him up.
But, the story that the exercise equipment got him seems so unbelievable.
Will insurance claims adjusters come out, investigate the condition of the equipment, review the damage, review how the parts snapped off, and all of that? It will be interesting to see their findings.
Or did Harry really get beat up by Mafia type goon????
was he exercising his rights?
I would real
ly love to know who beat the tar out of reid. maybe when the company does depositions we may find out.
Has anyone reached out to Mr. Equipment for comment? LOL
I went to his office in Searchlight and he wasn’t there but his staff promised he would keep an eye out looking for me.
