Donald Trump Is a Yuuuuuuuge Wuss
by Charles C. W. Cooke. September 24, 2015. How quickly was the great hard man reduced to sterile indignation. Last night, on Fox News, Rich Lowry proposed caustically that Carly Fiorina had, lets say, neutered Donald Trump during the most recent primary debate, and that she had done so with all the precision of a surgeon. In an instant, the whining began. Incompetent @RichLowry lost it tonight on @FoxNews, Trump griped on Twitter. He should not be allowed on TV and the FCC should fine him!
A few moments later, the lip wobbled out of control and the tears began to flow. @FoxNews owes me an apology for allowing clueless pundit @RichLowry to use such foul language on TV, Trump mewled. Unheard of! The diehard among Trumps fans like to claim that they are in search of a straight-talking Teddy Roosevelt type who will be capable of repelling Washingtons corrupting slings and arrows with his Great American Hide of Steel. In the wake of such an embarrassing display of frailty, one has to wonder how these people are feeling today.
In the last month alone, Trump has threatened to sue a small-time T-shirt maker whose products bear critical slogans (Donald Is Dumb, Stop Trump, and America Is Already Great); he has attempted to begin legal proceedings against the Club for Growth on the grounds that it has had the temerity to oppose him and his policies (this, Trump says, is defamation a stunted and preposterous piece of legal analysis that lends some credibility to the messages on the aforementioned t-shirts); and he has expressed a desire to use the federal government to censor unpliable journalists for the high crime of being amusing on television. That neither lawsuit has a shot in hell and, indeed, that the FCC doesnt actually have any jurisdiction over cable news does not seem to matter much.
What matters is that Donald Trump feels hurt, and that he doesnt like it one bit. Send in the bayonets, kids, we have some classy, classy tears to forestall. That it might be unwise to give nuclear weapons to a man who routinely seeks revenge against even the most modest of quibblers seems not to have occurred to the 25 percent or so of the Republican primary voters who are at present sitting on Trumps bandwagon. For the rest of us, though, I shall make the point clear: This is not a person who should be given access to a military or even, for that matter, to a modest bully pulpit.
Among the media figures that Trump has thus far called upon to be fired are Lowry (for suggesting that Carly cut him down to size in the testicles department), Jonah Goldberg (for proposing that he behaves like a 14-year-old girl), Stephen Hayes (for noting correctly that he is not a conservative), George Will (for arguing that he is a fraud), Charles Krauthammer (for discussing his unpopularity), Chuck Todd (for implying that he isnt a serious person), Megan Kelly (for . . . asking questions), and Hugh Hewitt (for the same offense). When maligned, Abraham Lincoln picked up his pen or arranged a debate. Donald Trump takes immediately to Twitter and shouts, take him off the air!
Why does Trump behave this way? Because hes a preposterous little trust-fund wuss, thats why. As was illustrated once again last night, the man is not really a fighter or an alpha male or an iron-cored enemy of political correctness. Hes a thin-skinned performance artist whose peculiar shtick falls to pieces the moment someone useful elects to return a punch. Look through Trumps recent Twitter contributions and you will see a wounded man who is always a few harsh phrases and a modicum of bad publicity away from curling up in an oversized sweater and listening to Everybody Hurts on repeat.
American presidents are supposed to be beacons of hope steely figures in a dangerous world. They arent supposed to have a hard time watching Fox News because a quick-witted guest happens to dislike them. They arent supposed to reach for the ice cream and stomp their Lilliputian feet if they consider that the press is treating them unfairly. And, in a free country such as America, they certainly arent supposed to react to each and every disparagement by asking which laws they might use to silence their detractors. It is one thing for a rebellious 3-year old to soil himself at the sign of trouble, and then to shout Daddyyyyyyyyyyaaa at the radiator; it is quite another for the prospective leader of the free world to do so.
If Trump wishes to police the countrys sharper purveyors of political animadversion and to carp impotently about injustice and unfairness he really shouldnt be seeking the White House. He should be using his considerable inherited wealth to better fund the anti-Mean Words department at Oberlin. Make America Pathetic Again? Lets not go there.
National Review keeps digging a hole to China. Time for a boycott.
More from the snotty NR Nancy boys, was it, that Ann Coulter called them because in a column after 9/11 she wisely said of the enemy groups in the Middle East that we should kill their leaders and convert their people to Christianity?
Hint: Have you followed the silliness over the Washington Redskins name? How about the intrusion of Governmental agencies on behalf of those rioting against local law enforcement.
Understand, I wish the Donald would not be so prone to wing it. A lot of people do not understand. But if you put it into the context of his basic attack on the PC lunacy, it will make a lot more sense.
[...and the FCC should fine him!]
“Grandpa Trump, what does cutting off his balls mean”?
That could be a question any mother or father may get upon hearing that sick and disgusting talk on the air.
Such funny responses wanted to post YES on all the pro Trump threads....
I’m also laughing at the anti-Trump responses. Trump has their panties in a knot (media, GOPes and anti-Trumpies).
I am for Trump - but I largely agree. He can still hit back when attacked...but should only do it for those that are worth hitting back at. Swat at vultures, not mosquitoes.
Trump needs to be coming out with more specific policies (yes, I know, a tax paper is coming out next week), get educated better on foreign/defense affairs, get himself a couple of good political handlers to smooth over the rough edges (and nothing much more than that), and keep attacking the Dems (both Biden and Cankles, because Biden will be getting in soon).
Coming from a Brit?? The nancyboys of nancyboys??
Seems Trump struck a nerve with that coward.
Given the mass of low info voters, experts say to make your soundbite understandable to someone with a 5th grade education for maximum appeal. KISS in politics works and Trump keeps it simple.
That said, he has my vote.
Because Wall.
You maybe onto something. Sooner or later Trump will be in free-fall as voters realize he has no gravitas and instead has become a caricature.
Indeed he is. He's a regular on FNB Kennedy. His schtick is upper crust Brit but I can't listen to him without feeling like the funny part of the Monty Pythoin skit starts any sec.
we live in an increasingly crass society...a calloused...hardened amoral society .
Better to tell the moron to shut up....than to demand the FCC take em off the air.
whow tried to stifle Jesse Jacksons rather similar comment about barackobama??
American presidents are supposed to be beacons of hope steely figures in a dangerous world.
...
Did the snot who wrote this bother to watch Trump at the SC townhall last night?
Thank you. What nerve this eurotwit has, criticizing our politics. He needs to weed his own garden.
Trump is an easy target. Everyone wants a piece of him.
I don’t think these little tiny arrows from little tiny people will affect him.
I’m for Cruz but I want Trump in the race.
Yeah, so?
And Nation Review is a repository of open-borders traitors and homo-marriage faggots. Burn in hell, NR scum.
The media soon learns that they need Trump more than he needs them.
Fox News will come crawling back to him, wait and see.
Donald’ Trump is melting in the dark,
All the sweet green icing flowing down,
Someone left his cake out in the rain!
Does not the FCC regulate obscene, indecent and profane language — have they not had the responsibility of doing so for many decades? I would not expect to tune in to Fox News and hear that kind of thing.
The most amusing part of this is Lowry’s contention that Fiorina had some kind of great victory over Trump. Many people in the media and GOPe were dying for that to happen, but that is not what I saw. Instead, I saw an aggressive, unsmiling and unappealing person hiding behind her sex. The only thing that makes Carly special and makes her apparently presidential material beyond the thousands of other ex-CEOs out there is that she is a woman. I don’t find a identity-based candidacies particularly consistent with conservatism.
I can’t wait to see that beautiful wall! He will have it done pronto. I believe illegals would be fleeing before inauguration, just a thought, some anyway.
