... I've mapped all the counties above according to where they rank on the natural amenities index -- mouse over to check out how desirable (or not) your own county is. You'll see that Sun Belt counties fare pretty well -- especially ones in California and Colorado. In fact, every single one of the 10 highest-ranked counties is located in California. After Ventura County, Humboldt, Santa Barbara, Mendocino and Del Norte counties round out the top five ...

I saw what you did there ;)
Yep. Let someone else do this and the will have a completely different map.
The county I am in is ranked #276
I’m doubting this thing.
Dude hates the Great Lakes. Apparently lots of water and flat land is bad.
You don’t like Utah? What part of the state are you in? We are going to SLC area in a few weeks to visit kids and grandsons.
Mine is 2702 out of 3111. I guess it’s because very few humans live here. And I love it that way!
I like it!!! I only wish my county ranked MUCH lower.
Hocking county Ohio has LOW natural amenities?
This person has no idea what he is talking about.
Not me. I am just fine where I am.
SSHHHH! Really, BRL. We like that no one else wants to live here. We can still breathe clean air, and I can take a leak off the back deck without offending anyone but the wife.
They don’t seem to like Maine with its hundreds of coastal islands, rugged coastline, forests, lakes, a huge state park, a beautiful national park, etc.
Pretty farging useless.......
Hardly - I’m in the Midwest (NOT Chicago or Detroit), I keep getting offers for the NE and Cali in my specialty for my industry and I keep telling’em to pound sand. When they ask whay I explain in detial that any raise I get wouldn’t cover the cost of living increase, there would be severely added taxes/regulation, crime is dramatically higher, AND worse I’d have to deal with all the brain dead that populate the region. Most headhunters keep calling me after that, but refrain from offering me those locales.
I live a mile from the county line. One county is # 69. The one I live in is 966.
Go figure.
Not sure I follow this guy’s math. How can a county like Haywood County, NC have ‘Average natural amenities’ and be ranked 428 out of 3,111? That puts it in like the 86th percentile. Apparently, average means something different to him.
My county, New Haven, CT is listed as high - go figure.
