The Los Angeles Times (8/10, Khan) reports that an international study led by Simon Driver of the University of Western Australia and presented at the International Astronomical Union meeting on Monday found that the amount of light the 200,000 galaxies are outputting is half of what they did two billion years ago, meaning the universe is dying. The article notes that seven telescopes were used in the study, including NASAs Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer spacecraft. Driver said that the conclusion is consistent with each of the three indicators measured. However, the universe should continue to exist far into the foreseeable future.

Dying?? I didn’t know it was alive....
Women and children will be hurt the most.
God stretches the Heavens out like a scroll. As He does this, potential energy builds up in the zero point field. It is the massive increase in zero point field energy which slows the speed of light (all electromagnetic actions). The zero point field has been shown mathematically to be the source for inertia and thus gravity. ... One of these days in the not so distant future, God is going to ‘snap’ the scroll and re-create it all.

I live a long ways from Indiana. I have never been to Indiana or to Purdue. I wish I could visit South Bend, home of Notre Dame and Ruddy! Ruddy! some day.
Just wondering. Does the great engineering university Purdue still have a football team? I thought that they stopped playing football years ago. Sorry. Couldn't resist.
I think you are thinking of Army (USMA). 13 straight losses to Navy, oy veh! Now I worry that a win there would bring the Apocalypse!
Never bother a leftist with facts.
Ping for later. Watched it once, and concur. Now I need to understand it.
