The private intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting, or Stratfor, recently published its Decade Forecast in which it projects the next 10 years of global political and economic developments.
In many ways, Stratfor thinks the world of 10 years from now will be more dangerous place, with US power waning and other prominent countries experiencing a period of chaos and decline.
1. Russia will collapse ...
"There will not be an uprising against Moscow, but Moscow's withering ability to support and control the Russian Federation will leave a vacuum," Stratfor warns. "What will exist in this vacuum will be the individual fragments of the Russian Federation."
Sanctions, declining oil prices, a plunging ruble, rising military expenses, and increasing internal discord will weaken the hold of Russia's central government over the world's largest country. Russia will not officially split into multiple countries, but Moscow's power may loosen to the point that Russia will effectively become a string of semi-autonomous regions that might not even get along with one another.
"We expect Moscow's authority to weaken substantially, leading to the formal and informal fragmentation of Russia" the report states, adding, "It is unlikely that the Russian Federation will survive in its current form."
2. ... and the US will have to use its military to secure the country's nukes.
Russia's nuclear-weapons infrastructure is spread across a vast geographic area. If the political disintegration Stratfor predicts ever happens, it means that weapons, uranium stocks, and delivery systems could end up exposed in what will suddenly become the world's most dangerous power vacuum.
The breakout of Russia's nuclear weapons stockpile will be "the greatest crisis of the next decade," according to Stratfor.

Some interesting predictions. We have gone past the point of great nation building and are de-evolving to where once great nations are breaking apart.
These United States may also fall into this, were States to begin seceding from the Union. They cycle may involve confederations of States in opposition to the Union whole and the next Civil War will begin.
Read the (old but still good) book Eyes of Texas :)
“I see dead people”
well, let me rephrase, “I see wars coming”.
Not particularly prophetic, any person with two brain cells to rub together can see that coming.
oops auto spell got me..

At what point does New York become submerged (again)?
If the GOP candidate (whoever it is, except Jeb, maybe) loses the presidential election, and the 'Rat party is not dealt a major defeat in Congress, this is inevitable.
“The one constant will be the continued and maturing power of the United States ...”
All our power will have to be dedicated to the sole purpose of maintaining our welfare state.
And that’s never worked out for any other nation... hmmm, maybe socialists DO see the US as “exceptional’ LOL!
Replace all the words Russia with USA and you have a more accurate scenario taking place. I can see the USA splitting apart far more easily than Russia. The Baltimore and Ferguson riots are just a prelude for things to come.
Yeah, like you’re ever going to have public support to send troops into Russia after all that has transpired.
Not to mention the Russians are so paranoid that even a twelve-man Special Ops nuke recovery team would likely be regarded as a full-on invasion.
Maybe. More likely the want us to fail and vanish from the world stage.
WTF! Everybody and their brother thinks they know what will happen next or what has just happened. So tell me this, oh wise and learned ones...What comes after next?
If I told you I'd have to kill you...
Regards,
GtG
We are so screwed.
11. The Capitol of the newly formed Country called UnitedNationstan Is the USA. Ethnic cleansing of Christians began 10 years earlier.
12. A mysterious fire at several Monsanto factories destroy most of the seed stock in the US. With everything going hybrid over the last decade, seeds that will actually create new crops diminishes by 90%. Banks holding mortgages swoop in with federal authorities to confiscate land of force farmers into city ghettos. Most wind up in Dearbonistan where cleansing and reeducation operations are working around the clock.
13. President Castro declares martial law and calls in the armed forces, now made up of over 80% radical LGBT brigades to quell the violence in several major cities. In Dearbornistan, they sit idly by, drinking Starbucks as pleas for help are ignored.
14. Iran finally launches their nuke at Israel as war rages throughout the middle east. The Israeli/Jordanian/Egyptian alliance pushes back both Sunni and Shiite armies led by Iran and ISIS. The final ISIS/Iran battle that the world has been waiting for on the killing fields of Iraq never materialize as President Casto offers both concessions in return for promising not to launch any major wars against the US until the next election.
15. Going back to that nuke, Israel intercepts it and before they can retaliate, the world body accuses Israel of crimes against humanity and warns them that retaliation will call for global war, directed by General Wesley Clark who is commanding the UN military. Israel tells the UN to piss off and launches anyway.
16. Last but not least. Pakistan retaliates for Iran, India launches against Pakistan, China launches against India, S. Korea launches against China, N Korea Launches against S Korea, The US launches against N. Korea, both Russia and China launch against the US.
And if anyone was paying attention, they would have seen that Israel also intercepted Pakistan’s missile and are the only country unharmed in all of this.
And the lord has spoken and Israel is saved.
Odd there’s no mention of global warming/cooling/climate change.
people pay for such bullshit reports..???
The report was smirked at and eye-rolled pretty strongly, but history played out very closely to those predictions, including the timeframes.
So, you can never tell. One thing in the report that is laughable is the concept of some sub-Saharan African nations becoming economically strong in a China-style manufacturing boom.
There is no historical basis to underpin this assertion. All previous predictions of economic growth for this region have proven to be wishful thinking.
