Okay, some new names for cities affected by rioting or probably soon to be affected.
Baltimore - Baltitroit
Charleston - CharlesWatts
Atlanta - Detrantla
Birmingham - Birmingtroit
Philadelphia - Philatroit
Pittsburg - PittsWatts
I can see the Statue of Liberty!..........
Not in Kansas, no.
Especially when spoken like a Canadian hockey broadcaster.
Well, that picture does look in the general direction of NYC (ESE).
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, looks like this:
it’s grown quite a bit since I spent a short time thee in the mid-’60’s...
I live about 2 hours north of Philadelphia, and I always call it Filthadelphia.
GMTA.
Fred,
That is probably the right time frame. He was in the streets, trying to keep order, and suffered abuse from the locals.
K51
Lost people, lost steel, but gained buildings and corporate headquarters since the 60’s.
Pittsburgh is in some ways fortunate as our Amish population is much smaller than most other East Coast cities.
Though that is offset by one of the most offensive collections of white trash Walmart people east of the Mississippi. All the same stuff goes on, but the perps often as not are white.
It got worse and worse over time. In the early/mid-sixties they had poor whites in one part of the complex, Pitt students and grad-students in another, Puerto Ricans in another, and Blacks everywhere else.
I went back there a few times to see unfortunate friends who were still living there as late as 1972. They were constantly harassed. In most of the rest of the 'Burgh people get/got along pretty well.
No doubt the constant agitation will eventually make every city a hell-hole. Still, of the places I've lived in PA; Philly, Allentown, Harrisburg, York, and Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh was by far the most harmonious.
So you lived in Allentown. Have you heard of Pen Argyl? That’s where I’m at.

how’d you like York...?
York had more racial problems than any city I’ve ever lived in, including New York City and Philadelphia. I would say Harrisburg was a close second.
You spelled Pittsburgh wrong.
LOL. I saw Todo there.
“So you lived in Allentown. Have you heard of Pen Argyl? Thats where Im at.”
I’ve never been, but my college roomie was from that area. He graduated Pius X High School, and I have a standing invitation to visit Roseto’s “Bigga Time.”
Sadly, Pius X High School will be closing after this school year(not enough attendees). Roseto is a great town. At one time many of the people were still full blooded Italian, they wouldn’t marry anyone else. The big time is also a great event in the area.
I would never have known without your message. Seems like no one but you noticed.
