Just an idea....
Feel free to add some or edit. I don't care. Looks like leadership is trying to move us toward civil war thinking they will be in control of it all in a totalitarian way. Don't think it's going to turn out like ANYONE thinks. All hell is about to break loose.

You don't know anything about Pittsburg if you think it's like Watts. Here is the downtown:

Pittsburgh did not have many of the racial problems that plagued other cities in the 60’s. [And I don’t see why it would have them now.] I won’t place much faith in the judgment of somebody who can’t even spell Pittsburgh.

My father, who was in the Pennsylvania National Guard, has a different recollection of Pittsburgh in the late 60’s. Especially in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.
To: FredZarguna
I see whut you did there.
To: FredZarguna
I only moved to Pittsburgh in the early ‘90s, so I wasn’t around for the ‘68 turmoil (I was far too young, anyway), but I’ve heard from some “lifers” that they did have some problems in ‘68.
But I agree with you. The city is only about 25% black so things would have to be REALLY, REALLY bad for there to be Baltimore-type riots here.

Watts isn’t Watts anymore. It’s Hispanic now.

Most would find this hard to believe, but parts of downtown Detroit that look like that too. Venture out a few blocks and it’s like a war zone with burnt out homes, decaying infrastructure, etc.

Pittsburgh did
not suffer from the riots that erupted throughout the summers of 1965, 66, and 67 in many metropolitan areas.
Your father's recollection is probably from riots in the Hill District and Homestead that flared for three days starting on April 6, 1968 in response to the assassination of Martin Luther King.
I grew up in the housing projects in the Hill District in the early 1960's, where my father along with many other Pitt students had housing. Those housing projects have since been torn down.

Don’t know about the rest but for years I have seen Philadelphia referred to as Killadelphia, the city of brutha’s and thugs.

See #15. The murder of MLK sparked the ‘68 riots. They were very limited [coincidentally, to my old neighborhood and one or two other places] in scope and duration. IIRC, the day after the assassination was the worst.
