I only moved to Pittsburgh in the early ‘90s, so I wasn’t around for the ‘68 turmoil (I was far too young, anyway), but I’ve heard from some “lifers” that they did have some problems in ‘68.
But I agree with you. The city is only about 25% black so things would have to be REALLY, REALLY bad for there to be Baltimore-type riots here.
See #15. The murder of MLK sparked the ‘68 riots. They were very limited [coincidentally, to my old neighborhood and one or two other places] in scope and duration. IIRC, the day after the assassination was the worst.
