Jesus Christ was not a real person and is probably the result of a combination of stories about several different individuals, according to a writer and leading atheist activist.
David Fitzgerald, a San Francisco based author, believes he has compiled compelling evidence that proves Jesus did not exist.
He claims there are no contemporary mentions of Jesus in historical accounts from the time when he was supposed to have lived, yet other Jewish sect leaders from the time do appear.

Gee! It must be close to Easter.......
Tell it to Flavius Josephus who did report it.
David Fitzgerald, Atheist, if you are right and we are wrong, what have we lost? But if we are right and you are wrong, what have YOU lost?
I don't believe David Fitzgerald exists. Sure, I'm reading stuff attributed to him, but I've never actually seen him or touched him. Yeah, some people out there claim to know him personally, but I have good reason to believe they're just trying to promote an agenda or system of beliefs, blah, blah, blah.
After he dies the question will be definitively resolved for him.
“THERE IS NO GOD AND I HATE HIM!”
As a Catholic we have apostolic succession, we claim first Pope Peter Second Pope Linus where an unbroken line of Laying on Hands from Apostles then Bishops. As an historical event if Jesus was not one man in History than Peter was not an historical figure or any Pope
I ask that question to the atheists I run into, and they just stare at me with a vacuous look.
Flavius Joseph was a conservative Christian, a gun nut and an anti-government extremist. You can’t trust anything that right winger said. Oh, and a homophobe, too!
“LIKE”
Oh my gosh! How could I have forgotten! A racist, too!
Yeah... the C&E atheists :o)
And that's the consensus of the scientific community, according to the "real" scientists.

Fairly well exposes the flaws in his line of reasoning.
What if Zeus is the real God and he is really, really mad at Christians for usurping his religion?
What if the Mormons are right? Then if you follow them you get to be God of your own planet. How cool is that? Beats sitting on cloud playing a harp. I guess you better believe in Joseph Smith just in case.
Well, he bases his belief on Christian insistence that various stories in the Talmud of people similar to Jesus (but not fitting the exact details or timeline) are actually about THE Jesus. Those are the records that are next up after dismissing the New Testament.
Yes, Fitzgerald a priori rejects the New Testament but accepts other writings from a similar time frame. Fail.
He would argue Flavius Josephus was not a contemporary, as he was born after the crucifixion.
So He’s a composite Jesus? How Barackian.

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”
Opposition to Christianity has its roots in Marxism- in the past, atheists were rightly recognized as the malefactors they are.
