I am not being sarcastic, but IMO that says you are comfortable without getting all the facts. Suit yourself.
See, I'm not "defending" the dog. I'm saying that there is more to this than what you are reading. Although possible, I seriously doubt an attack of the magnitude described here was....."They said the dog attacked inexplicably"
May I then assume you believe everything CBS tells you about Benghazi?

I’m taking a leap here but I would bet the couple were of the class of folks who “jump” the border....Costa Mesa is FULL of them but they are “real” people as opposed to the “plastic” people in Irvine from where we moved after 20 years back to CM....The street we lived on overlooking the bluffs above the Santa Ana River overlooking HB had eclectic homes and people - a little bit of everything. No cookie cutter homes for sure. Loved it there.
Well, aside from comparing this dog’s untold version of the facts, to the massive events and national security scandals involved in the loss of our ambassador and others in Benghazi, what are you thinking that we might be missing out on, by not knowing the dog’s version of events?
What do you think that we need to know, or might learn, if better investigative reporters look into this?

I owed two Dobermans at one time and I’m surprised that someone on here hasn’t verbally attacked them. Their training was very important to us AND TO THEM. But you can see even with the “ankle biter” type dogs, people see no need to train them as it’s the dogs that walk the people not the other way around.
How many people here remember the Reagans walking their dog or the obozo’s???? No, the Reagans didn’t walk the obozos...but someone should! I’m sure everyone gets the point - the little dogs dragged the first ladies across the lawns. Why did no one knowledgeable correct the situation? Now that the obozo dogs are larger, you don’t see anyone walking them.
How would you like to be the one to be the pooper scooper? Left to them, I’m sure they couldn’t care less but thank goodness there are custodians to see that the s**t doesn’t pile up outside as fast as it does inside!!!
I wouldn’t expect anyone to look into it further. And these people are not “investigative reporters”. For example in Louisville we had a report of a pit bull attack, moderately detailed. When pressed for facts afterwards, the “investigative reporter” admitted that he did not attend the scene, nor did he see the dog. Under pressure he admitted that he was told it was a pit bull by a person that didn’t see the dog, but claimed they were told so. I take all of these stories with a grain on salt.
I don’t know what we might learn. That’s my point. What I do know is that it is highly unlikely this is the whole story, based on the people who write it.
Yes, the dog could have gone off like that, I imagine it can happen. I simply wouldn’t put my money on it being as spontaneous as described here.
This isn’t about dogs, pit bulls or otherwise. It’s about taking something at face value because it fits what you believe. Watch an hour of CBS every night for a week. Then, outside of dog attacks and a Girl Scout cookie story, tell me what you take at face value.

Who knows, it might just be a simple story of a pit bull attacking it’s owners while they were in the car and then continuing the attack after the owner/driver left the car.

The wife and I had a Doberman we named Sadie; the smartest dog I’ve ever had. We took her training and socialization very seriously. We never tired of teaching her stupid pet tricks. She could master just about everything we threw at her in a single day. I still miss her.
She could swim better than any dog I’ve known. Six foot swells on Lake Michigan wouldn’t faze her.
Outside the home she was as friendly and sociable as you could imagine. When properly introduced to her you had a friend and protector for life.
God help you if you were a stranger (to her) trying to enter her residence, be it our home, her travel kennel or a hotel room. She had a protective streak a mile long and three miles wide.
We limit ourselves to “shelter” dogs now. I doubt I’ll ever have another dog as capable as Sadie.
One was named D’Artagnan and a young one Po Lo... The oldest one was very noble and protective - like his namesake. The young one was hell on wheels but both were very well trained and enjoyed being put through their paces.
We had friends who were hesitant to come into the house but after sitting at the table for awhile playing cards would find a large Doberman head in their lap begging for attention. One friend had an Afghan Wolfhound and swore it was the best dog ever until he made friends with the Dobies. We let them in - they had to be OK.
Must say tho’ that the oldest one HATED cats...who walked the redwood fence around our backyard and teased him UNTIL they made the mistake of jumping into the yard...Then it was time for a peace pipe with the neighbor over coffee!
