I am watching an amazing sci-fi flick, I know it's amazing because this is like the third time I watched it!
It's called "The Thirteenth Floor".
For the uninitiated, it's about alternate reality type things, as always there's a twist. Maybe more than one!
Anyways, any comments are welcome!
It came out at about the same time as Matrix. I liked 13th floor better. It used to be on Netflix.
I think Dark City came out before the Matrix, and I always suspected that the Wachowskis lifted a lot from that movie.
Great post. Kerrville is about as far to the right as you can get in Texas. We do have lots of old hippies that love this place too. The music is something that brings us all together. The Folk Festival changes the make-up of the town for three weeks in early summer every year. This year we’re having Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell headlining the festival. Should be fun. I may have to go to Austin see the Elevators concert as well.
Dark City is an outstanding little flick.

Really? Then too when it was walking and you heard that deep sound as it made footprints. Dad had the bass turned way up on that. Unfortunately we watched it on a 36” old style color TV - I bet on an LCD it’d be great ... and in 3D!!!
13th Floor wasnt a perfect movie, kinda cheesy, but very entertaining and everyone I know who had seen the movie had the same opinion.
Disney just was responsible for the brief electric scene. I don’t know who did the other effects.
While looking on youtube, I found this.
Spoiler, no Leslie Nielsen.
FORBIDDEN PLANET CAST REUNION (1999, 27 minutes)

Anyone looking for a family-friendly, sci-fi, dramedy screenplay to produce? I have a fun one for you!
I can never really decide if I like Cronenberg movies. They’re so weird, and usually scarring. But definitely better than The Matrix.
I love the Folk Fest, camped for free and worked trash detail back in 93. Ate and drank Shiner, camped for work.
Saw and met Roky Erikson at Theater Gallery in Deep Ellum back in 88. Lots of punk rock going on back then.
Kudos on Dark City.
I am watching the directors cut now!
Spooky!
