Do you own an iPhone? Then you're SMARTER than an Android user: Infographic reveals link between education and phone choice
Study found states with more college graduates, such as Alaska and Vermont, have higher iPhone sales
New Mexico, Iowa and Delaware have lowest percentage of iPhone users, and a lower number of graduates
The more densely populated an area, the more chance iPhone sales will be higher, according to the research
Previous study found that iPhone owners are vainer and spend more on clothes than those who have Android
iPhone users have a reputation for being smug and now they may have a good reason.
A recent study has found that people who use an iPhone are smarter than those who prefer Android devices.
This is based on research that found states with more college graduates also tend to have higher iPhone sales.
The study, by Massachusetts-based advertising group Chitika, discovered that Alaska, Montana and Vermont have the largest number of iPhone users in the US.
These states also have the highest percentage of college graduates.
Meanwhile, New Mexico, Iowa and Delaware have the lowest percentage of people who use iPhones, and a lower number of graduates.

Smart people buy cheap TracFones and enjoy the saved money.
No, Smart people use toilet paper
What a rah rah go iphone piece.
I own an iPhone. I do not necessarily consider people with a degree, especially in the current Marxist run and Marxist geared higher education propaganda centers smarter those common sense driven folks who can and do make America work.
Android user here. Bumping for, the aamusement factor.
So Mississippi, the state with the lowest educational achievements in the country has one of the highest % of college graduates?
It did cause a chuckle. :)
From what I can see, IPhone users are more pretentious and prone to be influenced by what is fashionable.
I often see these together.
Apple & Prius
:)
From what I can see, Android users are easily Butthurt .
J/k. Have a nice day.
Gee, I always wondered why I am as dumb as a rock....
It is my choice of a smart phone.../ S
This study has holes big enough to drive a truck though...guess I’m to dumb to know that...
My 17-year old daughters just got smart phones for Christmas. Neither one wanted one - but their flip-phones were falling apart.
We got a decent android that was still on the small side as the girls are used to smaller phones to slip into their pockets. The salesman was surprised they still had flip-phones, and agreed that anything was a step up. He commented “I’ve had 10-year old kids come in here crying because they didn’t get the iPhone6 in the color they wanted. Heck - I’ve had ADULTS in tears because we had to order out for the color they wanted.”
It was funny - they weren’t real happy when they saw the phones for Christmas. (”Can we return them and just get the regular phones?”) They like them now though. Got them both 64 GB SanDisc expansion memory for $16 each on Ebay too!
Smart people think about what they need and want, they research the options, consider the cost and performance tradeoffs, and they choose on that basis.
They aren’t swayed by fast talkers who profit directly or indirectly by convincing you to buy something that isn’t what you need, or ones who proffer FUD to sway your decision.
Smart people don’t rely on slick TV ads.
Idiots see what the “cool people” do, and they do the same, because they think that makes them cool.
Having a degree doesn’t mean you’re smart, and not having one doesn’t mean you’re an idiot.
What a crock. First of all, the whole study is idiotic.
Who designed it? Third graders at Sidwell Friends School?
Besides that; New Mexico has the highest percentage of PHDs per capita of all the states. I reckon that balances out the low rate of graduates.
Correlation does not infer causation. Nothing more need be said.
Apple products are for people who don’t understand tech. With Apple, all you need to know is where to turn it on.
We use dumb phones and plan to keep it that way!
