Never heard of him.
The video memorial ESPN was running just now was quite touching and well-produced. He certainly deserved the Jimmy V award at the ESPYs last year.
I’ve always wondered who came up with “Boo-Yah!”
Was he vocal in his criticism of Obama?
Wow. I recognize him. Sad for his loved ones that he died so young.
Now not so much.
Went way to soon.
So young, what a shame. RIP
sad..
the guy was awesome, a really good guy. always enjoyed his commentary. he fought a long and brave battle.
Condolences to Stuart Scott’s family and friends.
He was cool, but “the other side of the pillow” is NOT his. I first read it in a piece on Joe Namath about 20 years ago.
May he rest in peace. He seemed to be one of the genuinely good guys...gone way to young.
His acceptance speech at the JimmyV Award was inspiring. He spoke to the affect that it’s not that cancer beats you when you die, it’s how you lived in the time you had. It was moving, inspirational and heartfelt.
By all accounts he was a doting dad to his two teenage daughters. I think I’m recalling this correctly, but he even joined them in their dance recital of the Nutcracker several Christmases ago. (I have 4 sons and ESPN is on 24/7 here...I “learn” a lot of sports info).
I also recall that his cancer was discovered during routine Appendectomy surgery (he was to do the studio commentary on a SNF or MNF game that the Steelers were playing in. The other guys were “on him” but then the tone of their comments changed from razzing to dead on serious get well wishes).
May he rest in Eternal Peace and may the Perpetual Light shine upon him.
Is Stuart somebody?
I heard this earlier while watching pregame. Condolences to his family.
RIP.

Very sorry to hear this news. RIP, Stuart Scott.
His talks on fighting cancer were very encouraging. (I was doing some transcription work for some extra cash, and just by chance, one of the jobs was a speech given by Stuart.)
This is the second piece of bad news in the last few days: A young mother I know of also passed away after a tough battle.
RIP
Likable guy.
