Stuart Scott, a longtime anchor at ESPN, died Sunday morning at the age of 49.
Among the features of the new ESPN studio in Bristol is a wall of catchphrases made famous by on-air talent over the years. An amazing nine of them belong to one man -- from his signature "Boo-Yah!" to "As cool as the other side of the pillow" to "He must be the bus driver cuz he was takin' him to school."

Never heard of him.
The video memorial ESPN was running just now was quite touching and well-produced. He certainly deserved the Jimmy V award at the ESPYs last year.
I’ve always wondered who came up with “Boo-Yah!”
Was he vocal in his criticism of Obama?
Huh? He’s one of the biggest names ESPN ever had.
Hasn’t been on the air much the last 5 years or so due to cancer....but 1993 through maybe 2008 or 9 he hosted all the big shows and did some other work as well.
Wow. I recognize him. Sad for his loved ones that he died so young.
he might have come up with that one....the “cool as the other side of the pillow” had been done before.....
Hardly ever watch ESPN.
I never heard him speak on politics so I have no idea for sure his thoughts on Obama. If he was on my set I was watching sports at the time.
Well then maybe you should go away. Don’t know why people have to go onto threads and tell people they aren’t interested. He was a good sports announcer and by all appearances a nice guy, I’m sad he’s gone.
Now not so much.
Went way to soon.
So young, what a shame. RIP
Boo-yah....wasn’t it the You.S. Marines?
sad..
the guy was awesome, a really good guy. always enjoyed his commentary. he fought a long and brave battle.
Condolences to Stuart Scott’s family and friends.
He was cool, but “the other side of the pillow” is NOT his. I first read it in a piece on Joe Namath about 20 years ago.
The word was LA gang speak for the sound a shotgun makes when you dispatch a rival. So, basically, Stuart’s “style” was the dumbing down of commentary by using urban street slang. Sorry he succumbed to a horrible illness, but I never cared much for the way he, Jim Rome, or Stephen A. Smith used “hip” lingo to communicate.
thats what I thought..Must be some Marines on here that can verify that
