The Chicago Bears made a heck of a statement this offseason. They gave quarterback Jay Cutler a $126 million contract.
The team was telling everyone that even though Cutler was a mediocre quarterback for eight years, the ninth would be different. He would be paid like he was on the same level as the game's best quarterbacks. And now, 14 games later, theyre benching Cutler for Jimmy Clausen.

Cutler is a coach and franchise killer. I wonder if his reality star wife will dump him.

Cutler is no Aaron Rodgers but this smacks of CYA by Trestman.

If is obvious that Trestman has lost the team. He needs to go.

It smacks of “why the hell did they give him that huge contract”. Cutler has never been better than pretty good. And he’s way too moody.

LOL, yeah, that's the standard joke. Tresman is GONE after this season. I simply do not understand how the Bears gave Cutler a long-term $126 million contract. He is the highest paid player in the NFL. His salary cap, regardless of whether they keep or dump him, will haunt the Bears for many years to come.
And really, like someone said, in his best years Cutler was mediocre and has really been bad for a long time. His 9th year was going to be magically different?

Yep. I admit the Packers SUCKED last week against the Bills, but I've found ways to console myself. Yum!

Everyone wants to CRAP on Jay Cutler. I am not defending him, but I lived through Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton. He’s no better than Orton, and a LOT better than Grossman.
It doesn’t help that the entire defense went to hell in one year. They need to use most of their picks next year for defense. Suck it up with Grossman for his last season to bite the bullet on the last guarantee year of his contract and then draft for a QB.
They can draft QB’s but the Bears never seem to draft good ones.

They can draft QBs but the Bears never seem to draft good ones. Could of had Tebow for peanuts and had a better record. Not a superbowl contender mind you, but less of an embarrassment! Tim has what Cutler lacks, running ability and heart.
