Ah, something only us MDers can appreciate. Looking forward to coming home for the (belated) holidays shortly and snagging me a crabcake somewhere......

Sure, have a seat.
Will there be anything else?

Dave DeBoy was a nice man. I auditioned for plays in front of him.
Never got the parts, but he was always a gentleman.
Very gracious.

From the title I expected a story about Sandra Fluke and Anthony Weiner.

Virginia may be for lovers, but Maryland is for crabs.
So is Delaware.

If you buy crabcakes this time of year in Maryland make sure you find out where the crab came from. Could be foreign.
Now, oysters might be a better choice. There are 6 of us who share 2 dozen raw Upper Bay oysters — the best! — every New Year’s Day. January 1 will mark 10 years for our tradition. Well, 4/6 of us partake; 2 are not raw oyster fans.

Really doesn’t matter.
They ship them up here in the summer, too. Local are expensive due to all the damn envir-nazi restrictions “....it’s for The Baaaayyyyy.....”
I love them all. Main difference CAN be freshness, but really the difference is MD style cooking.

So very true. I made the mistake of ordering crabcakes in VA. The do not know how to make crabcakes apparently. I have to admit that my Philadelphia-born mother — Lord rest her soul — could make an excellent crabcake. But, of course, she used the Maryland recipe.
