And his is why I don’t watch sports anymore.....all politics and school size.
‘Bama will play THE Ohio State University at the Sugar Bowl and FSU will travel Pasadena to face Oregon.
Wow.....how does a #3 ranked team drop to #6? Crazy. Irrelevant system.
Time for AT LEAST a national referee pool to get rid of inherent bias.
Damn if my TCU Frogs didn’t lose that Baylor game (of which they had a big lead) they would have been a top 4 team and also undefeated. Oh well.
What a crock of fraud.
You can make a case for TCU or Baylor, but the lack of a championship game in the Big 12 hurt their chances. The dismantling of Wisconsin last night by OSU with their third-string QB was impressive.
Well, he got his wish, and under your picks no team from Texas makes it into the playoffs.
Direct TV Channel 610, Big Ten Network (BTN) is running the replay in 60-minutes - wow, wow, wow, truly One for the Ages. If you want to see a fantasy scripted game this one is as thorough a beating as anything you will ever see. This kind of game only happens once every 3-4 years so worth watching.
The fact that they didn’t make it 8 teams shows just how addicted to dumb college football is. 8 teams is an easy playoff to structure with and will get rid of most of the controversy, automatic entry for the big conference winners, pick the rest. 4 guaranteed there would be a conference winner out and thus guaranteed it would stay a mess.
Based on the snub by allowing the winner of the weakest major conference in the nation to attend, I won’t be watching. It is still just a beauty contest.
Ohio State has the other OSU to thank. Beating OU put the strength of the Big 12 in question, and gave them the edge in the end.
Go Bama! Go Oregon!
Maybe this system is salvageable after all...
John McCain will be calling for a Senate Investigation Committee to review the rules of selection.
:)
TCU isn’t in it?
Sounds like a rip off.
Absolute travesty.
But I never doubted that TCU , Baylor or any other second teir school would get screwed over for Ohio State.
Five conferences.....four Slots....herein lies the problem.
The other conferences are essentially two conferences in one, with the divisions.
Let’s say we eliminate the Big XII and distribute the remaining teams to the other conferences. Now we’re down to four conferences, Perfect! And thus we can truly have a completely objective playoff system. Four conference champions, which will be in the playoffs. And with the Conference Championship games, it is essentially now an eight-team playoff.
Which means Notre Dame better find themselves a conference if they want in.
It’s inevitable, if this system is going to work.
But UT is going to have to swallow their pride and admit they can no longer be the big fish in a small pond, and let the Big XII die.
I think TCU got stiffed.
That being said, I am a long-time ‘Bama fan (going back to the 1960s). I don’t much care for OSU , but I do like coach Urban Meyer. I despise Oregon and FSU, though I despise Oregon just a shade less.
