4: THE Ohio State University
That game against Kansas really hurt TCU in the end.
It’s hard to make an argument that the Big 12 was any better in quality than the Big 10.
And OU’s loss to OK State sealed the deal.
They got some good bowl matchups to look forward to though, although I would have liked to have seen one of them play Mississippi State.
My fear is that now a lot of these bowl games are going to be complete duds. It’s like the NIT now, nobody is enthusiastic about them, that’s the downside of a playoff.
It’s also the curse of players leaving early for the NFL, now the most talented teams really won’t be motivated, because all the players are thinking about is not getting hurt and jeopardizing their draft position.

...not only did they not lose by two touchdowns at home to a six loss team, they also did not have to play two overtimes to beat another...your points concerning Baylor and Kansas pale in comparison to OSU’s slip-ups...
...instead of trying to end the conversation, why don’t you expand it, and acknowledge the obvious takeaway from all this...prestige and fannies in the seats mean more than on field body of work with those that run the game...

I agree the gambit to try and score two berths by declaring co-champions hurt the Big 12. They even ran a commercial that said “One True Champion” and then didn’t pick one.
I am looking forward to Oregon showing the ACC that FSU is lucky,overrated and played a weak schedule.

And TCU put up 58 on them. Team that had the ball last won the game. A bad game for both teams.
You should blame the Big 12 commissioner for wrecking the conference, not the Playoff Committee who made the common sense decision.

...why not just admit it...it’s not that hard...prestige and a big fanbase sealed the deal...really, there’s no shame in admitting it, the playoff committee itself clearly believes it...so who are you not to...?

You know what I’m doing if I’m the Pac-12 today, I’m calling BYU and Boise State and asking them to join, and stop them from joining the Big 12, to get to 12 teams. Then they’ll be reduced to begging schools like SMU to join.
The other conferences would love to weaken the Big 12 even more, to discourage the best players from going to their schools.

You're right, it must have been the 59-0 win over a 10-2 team in a conference championship that did it.
TCU didn't even PLAY a 10 win team this year.
I think also the bottom line is look at the score between the two 61-58.
I think the committee was uneasy about letting in a team that gave up so many points in a game, after seeing Ohio State pitch a shutout.
This is what it looks like from an objective position, but not to the Baylor/TCU fans here who insist they are being treated unfairly, and are blaming various conspiracies about tickets and boosters.
I just looked at yesterday’s college hoops scores, and out of 64 teams that played, 20 of them scored fewer points in a basketball game than Baylor scored on TCU.
I don’t think the Gators basketball team has scored that many in a game all year.
