Joan Tarshis posted an essay on Hollywood Elsewhere, via the Hollywood Reporter, alleging that Cosby drugged and raped her on two separate occasions in 1969, when she was just 19-years-old.
Tarshis, a former actress, music industry publicist, and journalist, wrote that Cosby, whom she met through mutual friends, would routinely invite her to his room on the Universal lot where the taping of The Bill Cosby Show took place.
According to her, the comedian would offer her food and drinks, and although Cosby never drank alcohol in front of her, he would often pour her Bloody Marys.
In regards to the first instance of alleged sexual assault, Tarshis recounted an evening when Cosby invited her to his room to discuss material for his show. That is when he reportedly made her one of his Bloody Mary drinks.
She goes on to claim that she lost consciousness in the midst of discussing a scene with the comedian, and that she remembers coming to on his couch, unclothed.

Cosby has not really figured that prominently in the Culture Wars. He has no record of actually peeling black voters away from the Democrat base.
Also, he has apparently settled at least one civil suit involving sexual misbehavior of some kind.
This is from the Dec. 18, 2006 issue of People magazine.
“What Cosby never mentioned was the civil lawsuit he settled just two days earlier with Andrea Constand, 32, a former Temple University employee who claimed Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her in his Philadelphia-area mansion in 2004. Constand’s lawyers Dolores Troiani and Bebe Kivitz ended up with 13 witnesses, most referred to in court documents as “Jane Does,” who came forward voluntarily with strikingly similar claims of drugging and or abuse by Cosby. Terms of the settlement, reached before any of the women could testify, were not disclosed.”

By the time this runs it’s course, Bill Cosby will have (allegedly) had sex with more women than Wilt Chamberlain.
My thoughts exactly. Bill Clinton, white privilege.
I believe he is guilty.
Most of the women were too self interested to catch him ... Not even getting a rape test.
But because the women were dumber than rocks does not mean he’s innocent.
I vote for both 1 and 2.
I tend to like to wait a while and see how things shake out before I come to too many big conclusions. But there are two major factors I look at in how I weigh things.
1. Is there a “pattern?” Or is it just one far-flung, isolated accusation? That’s always a major point. Some people seem prone to immediately believe any accusation at the drop of a hat, no matter how ludicrous. It really amazes me at times. Even seemingly smart people do this.
2. Maintain an extremely WARY stance if the accused is a conservative, or some kind of perceived moral leader. Because they will always be targeted for destruction, by evil Alinskyite types. They will get a much greater benefit of doubt from me.
So, it does seem moreso of a “pattern” than a single isolated incident. And despite a few mutterings criticizing aspects of black culture (owing more to his older generational attitudes moreso than any actual ‘conservatism’), Cosby is a BIG lib. A big Obama-supporting lib. Even if some fellow blacks didn’t like his curlmudgeonly comments, he’s NOT really someone the leftists and Alynskyites would target for destruction.
Hence, I’m probably leaning against Cosby.
Theyre after his Leonard part 6 money...
His studio contact called one day, and told him flat out “You will not see another dime for this job, and if you as much as speak of it, you will never work in this town, again”. I met the fellow at her wedding, a few years later, and after a few drinks, asked him about his work on “Leonard”. His jaw almost dropped, and then he just made the universal “lips are zipped” sign.
Repeating a lie doesn’t make it the truth.
Nor does finding 13 “witnesses” to repeat the same lie.
Reporting a “crime” 45 years later certainly minimizes credibility.
Regarding the case you cited, the prosecutor couldn’t find enough evidence to charge Cosby. As for the monetary settlement, there is the complicated issue of public image and legal costs. Settlement doesn’t imply guilt.
There’s a possibility of a big payout? They will be coming out of the woodwork.
“Most of the women were too self interested to catch him ... Not even getting a rape test.”
I suspect most of them were too scared and embarrassed. Wealthy people and their armies of lawyers and handlers, not to mention the media and fans, are really intimidating. No one wants to go through what Desiree Washington went through after accusing Mike Tyson. Thinking back to 1985, running afoul of Team Cosby and NBC might not have been the best career move if you were trying to get into show business.
Repeating what lie, a 2006 court settlement over a 2004 sexual assault and 13 other women also claiming such assaults and willing to say so under oath?
Are you the one repeating a lie or what?
These stories make people laugh in the world. Grown sinful women claiming to be raped. No one would believe it in places like France and Russia. Of course they have low morals there, but they have a realistic understanding that women are just as hungry as men on sex and mostly play on the penis perception.
It is a joke, especially in black environment.
I believe the Clinton campaign would refer to these allegations as coming from “nuts and sluts”.
Strange how liberals don’t want to hear that.
Some women will throw themselves at high profile men. Doesn’t mean he’s innocent but doesn’t mean he isnt.
Funny how she kept going back.
I remember the racist rant his wife wrote for the L.A. Times years ago.
Happens in a lot of industries.
1969? Give me a break.
My first Leonard Part 6 true life story. :)
I’m not surprised they didn’t pay, that thing tanked spectacularly. That does stink for the people who did the work though. I’m sure Cosby and...Cosby got his money.
She isn’t a sympathetic figure. Her greed and desire to be an actress kept her coming back.
