Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee and a conservative kingmaker, is doubling her efforts in Louisiana to get retired Air Force Col. Rob Maness elected to the U.S. Senate over GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and incumbent Democrat Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

Are you saying that now because Maness is being promoted, that folks will switch their vote from Cassidy to Landrieu??

The Dems already had time to descend on LA, runoff or no runoff. Do you think they are not doing that now??
Did you read the results of the polls I posted?! The conservative has ZERO chance of winning but a very high chance of his presence and Palin’s endorsement GIVING the election, including control of the Senate to the Democrats!
Is it a worthwhile goal for Sarah and conservative to help ensure a Democrat Senate?!
Of course they are, but they have to spread themselves around to other races. Cloud of gnats now, plague of locusts at runoff.
I don’t care which non dem is elected but one needs to win. And only one can win.
Same thing is going to happen to Cassidy as Romney. Polls look great ..we got this. While the dems are knocking on thousands of doors...pinpointing there base...phone banking till middle of night...yard signs being delivered...and on election day the Repubs are scratching there heads wondering what happend. Asking stupid questions about having to appeal more to Latinos.
No, in November, the anti Landrieu vote is split and she wins with 50% +1. Of even more concern, a run off election between Landrieu and Cassidy. Landrieu and the Rats pour money into run off and dead arise from the grave to vote for her and she wins reelection.
Republicans are spreading themselves around to other races now too. They too can concentrate their efforts for a runoff.

This is very sophisticated target campaign marketing...they tailor a message to the voter's actual hot buttons.
Combine that with relentless Push-Pull-Drag operations and the ability to work that system for weeks in early voting and absentee, and it's possible we are all in for a very big shock on Nov. 5.
We do not have a senate race here in WI, but the stakes in our Governor's race are huge. And I am very nervous about what is happening here. Governor Walker should be "walking away" with this election - the Dems put up a real tree stump of a candidate. But polls are tied, and WI put Tammy "Tree Stump" Baldwin into a senate seat a mere two years ago under this system.
A split in the anti Landrieu vote won't make the Landrieu vote go up. She will get the same 50% +1 or not whether the anti Landrieu vote is split or not.
Point well taken. However, if the race goes to a run-off
I worry that the Democrats will pour millions of dollars into the race and find thousands of dead voters and Landrieu
wins re-election in the run-off.
The Republicans can pour millions more into the runoff too. The Dems already had six years to devise their plan to max out on dead voters.
Perhaps after meeting him she said WOW, this guy is the real deal, I have to get behind him.
Or does she say sorry the polls show me I have to support the other guy, even though I dont think he is the way to go
He probably is a really good guy - Sarah’s instincts are unusually good and I’d give anything if I could vote for her once more.
Levin says to vote for the most conservative person WHO CAN WIN. Its great to make the debate about conservative principles - but ultimately we have to win too.
The damage Obama has done - and Clinton too for that matter - has really raised the stakes.
I think you are right and I am optimistic about Cassidy winning but we all know the tricks the Rats can come up with on election day.

Cassidy: “Landrieu Supports (Obama’s) Agenda 97% of the Time”
US Senate Candidate Bill Cassidy (L) – LPNO Interview 3/7/14
“Barak Obama’s agenda has been awful for the American Family… and Senator Landrieu supports that agenda 97% of the time,” Congressman Bill Cassidy (LA 06) told Lincoln Parish News Online (LPNO) in an interview earlier today in Ruston. That remark was in response to the question of why he is running for for the U. S. Senate, and against incumbent Mary Landrieu.
Cassidy said that agenda has hurt Americans because it has “taken (away) their choice of healthcare,” and is “hurting their ability to get a good job with good benefits.” He added, “If she wins, the Senate continues to be a rubber stamp for this agenda that’s hurting the American Family.”
Cassidy said he is best positioned in the state to beat her, and feels duty bound to try.
Said Cassidy, “I’ll give up my congressional seat – that’s the risk you take – the greater goal is I am not going to be passive as this president and this senator who supports him 97% of the time, I think does things which are incredibly harmful.”
Cassidy, 57, came to Louisiana from Illinois at ten months of age, when his father went to work in one of the petrochemical plants along the Mississippi River south of Baton Rouge. He graduated from Baton Rouge’s Tara High School, and got his medical degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical School.
He was first elected to the Louisiana State Senate in 2006, and won his Baton Rouge-based congressional seat in 2008.
Cassidy credits his love of the state and interest in politics from reading at an early age A. J. Liebling’s book, The Earl of Louisiana. That book chronicled Louisiana Governor Earl Long’s final years in Louisiana politics.
Asked why he entered politics later in life, Cassidy says he often counsels young people who want to be involved in politics to “have a life first.”
Said Cassidy, “People will respect you more, and your judgements will be sounder if you’ve actually had to live under the laws that others have passed, and you’ve actually had to make a living and make decisions.”
Landrieu has held public office continuously since 1979.
Cassidy acknowledged Landrieu’s support in the past from some in Louisiana’s business community because of government “earmarks.”
Said Cassidy, “Senator Landrieu is related to people by blood, marriage, and government contracts.”
But Cassidy thinks that since the earmark process has been significantly curtailed since 2010, her ability to garner support from that practice will be also diminished.
Qualifying for the Tuesday, November 4 election is August 20-22, Early voting will be from October 21 to October 28.
