A London hospital was totally unprepared when a suspected Ebola patient walked into A&E, it was claimed today.
Health authorities have carried out high-profile drills in a bid to show that Britain is ready for the feared arrival of the disease.
But an insider at Lewisham hospital said the response when a potential case walked into casualty on Saturday night shows the reality of the situation is much worse.

For most "healthcare Workers" in the west, it is a JOB, not a crusade they are willing to die for, or risk killing their own families.
But I'm sure "protocols were followed". [/s]
Most "crusades" we puny humans start out on DO end up as just a job. However, I worked for FIFTY years and ONLY lost enthusiasm in that 50th year. My "Crusade" had reached its end. It does happen, finally. But, then I wasn't in the medical field. I might not have lasted so long after having to deal with the sick and dying for that length of time.
That HAS to happen to the police too, dealing with nothing but the scum of the earth for a living.
Better them than me.
If you like your protocols....you can keep your protocols.
Well, looks like others have spent their time mocking the Keystone Cops in Dallas rather than learning from their mistakes, so it’s going to happen again and again. Schadenfreude would be in order if it weren’t so potentially deadly.
Nurse: Patient just arrived! Hes bleeding from his eyeballs!!
Head doctor: Get him in here! Room 24B is open! Lets move, people!
Cowards.
“We only wanted to be health care workers to get money. We didn’t expect to encounter any risks...........waaaaaaaaah!”
It’s happened in the military, too.
I’m no scientist, but even I can see that garb is insufficient. “Blow in my ear and give me ebola”.
Great job all.
I’m sure they have garbage bags there. No one is thinking, just lock step inadequate procedure. It’s not as if the means of infection haven’t been studied sufficiently to dictate covering their necks, ears and anything else.
No, it's nothing to laugh about, but .. LOL ! d:^)
Don’t go home if it’s a risk to your family. Quit if you are too big a coward to do the job. It had to have been difficult treating people with polio, smallpox etc.
Just a foreshadowing what’s getting ready to happen in the U.S.
The problems with things like Ebola is that they grow exponentially. Even if Ebola grows slowly to start with, unfortunately, we ain’t seen nuttin yet. Just wait until flu and norovirus season hits to see what a completely paralyzed nation that battens down the barricades REALLY looks like as millions have symptoms that are much like how Ebola starts off!
The trenches of our medical system are completely unprepared for something like this. And thank you, President Obola for your “fundamental transformation” when flu season hits!
Oh, and PLEASE let’s keep those West African shuttles flying back and forth, since obviously it would do no good anyway with your open borders policy. Oh, and everyone? Be sure to vote a straight Democrat ticket in November: they really DO care about you folks, ya’ll hear? After all:
“Now, I am not on the ballot this fall,” Obama stressed. “... But make no mistake: My policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.” (Including unrestricted West African air flights.)

Today? It's all about Me, and your disease is harshing my weekend.
Exactly. You get an outbreak in Central America, and they are going to come flowing over the borders to escape it or get treatment. The hospitals are going to be overwhelmed and the infection rate will skyrocket. I am sure once it hits LA, the Hollywood liberals will get out of town.
Get a load of tomcat’s picture of the vaunted NHS workers in the UK.
I love the ‘chili bowl’ catchment for the blood.
Yep, these guys totally have it under control. Nothing at all to worry about.
LOL. That reminds me - I used to hear of bleeding with Ebola. Not with this outbreak. Very odd.
“Things were more straightforward in a Christian society. Service to God, service to others. Life is short, and we’re all going to die, and eternity awaits those who live a Christian life. To tend the lepers or smallpox victims took bravery, but it was a bravery that was not uncommon.
Today? It’s all about Me, and your disease is harshing my weekend.”
Yep. People are so selfish these days.
