I held my nose and voted for Romney. I will not vote for a RINO again.
If the GOP nominates another country-club, cronyist RINO in 2016 I will write in Ted Cruz and move to Texas - I figure it’s the state with the best chance of making it as an independent nation when the Union dissolves.
Right on Bev ! I feel exactly the same way .
God bless ya
For our troops !
This claim - that 4 million white Conservatives stayed home in 2012 - has never been verified by actual analysis.
There are two reasons to doubt this claim is actually true:
(1) Romney got 1 million MORE votes than McCain.
(2) Obama got 4.5 million LESS white votes in 2012.
Based on that evidence, you could claim that 4.5 million disillusioned white voters rejected Obama in 2012 and stayed home.
“America can only be rebuilt from the ashes. We will never revive it at the ballot box.”
This. To pretend that Willard Romney the open socialist or any other next-in-line would somehow put America on the path to recovery is beyond disingenuous.
AMEN!! I am as conservative as they come, and I too am SICK of PURISTS that say they won’t vote for someone who isn’t as conservative as they are!! DISGUSTING!!<P.Hey PURISTS.....YOU have as much blood on your hands as DEMOCRATS do! COWARDS!!
The people that backed Romney to take over the GOP better be regretting their decision.
Amen
Im happy to say I DID NOT help to elect OBAMA
Also note: there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats
Republicans are not entirely insane yet....better to vote for them if you can help it
That sounds good.
The browbeating conservatives take every election season from the party hacks has really lost its effectiveness since the GOPe came out of the closet and joined the left in vocalizing their contempt for its conservative base.
They can pop a vein for all I care.
Somebody had to win the primary ....who would you suggest should have done it?
The anti-republican/anti-Reagan, Romney managed to use his personal fortune and the help of the left that is within the GOP, to completely dominate and shape two presidential primaries, and keep out major opposition, it has cost us dearly.
The people that backed Romney to take over the GOP better be regretting their decision, but it seems they don’t, since the more we see from them, the more clear it is, that they were dedicated to the results they got, drive conservatism from the GOP and defeat it.
Absolutely. It is always better to vote for the republican for president than the democrat, no matter what. Our sons and daughters in the military lives depend on this. If for no other reason, hold your nose so my son and other’s sons and daughters have a chance to survive.

I watched Lone Survivor at home the other night. The Seals made the decision to let the goat herders go and try to get an extraction before they could tell the Taliban that Americans were in the woods. They made that decision based on what would happen to them if they killed unarmed civilians, they would be charged for murder. So the Seals ended up getting murdered instead. That is what is happening every day to our troops, taking unnecessary risk due to political correctness and the hatred of them by our POTUS.
People, I don’t know why we are going down this road again, so early before 2016.
First, no one is taking about “staying home” in any election now.
Second, you (seekthetruth, aka Beverly Perlson) seem to have forgotten about Cantor’s demise in his primary when you wrote “, the last time I checked these “Non-establishment Republicans” as they now refer to themselves, I think their candidates fared a pathetic something like 0 for 7 in recent elections.”
Perhaps you have already written off David Brat as “unelectable” which is why you then went on to write, “The Republican candidates that truly have a chance to beat the Democrats in the November election fared very well...”
Tell me Ms. Perlson, have you written off David Brat? Is he also not worth this “unity” you speak of, or is that only reserved for the “electable” Republicans in November? Answer me.
If I seem a bit unnecessarily agitated forgive me. I do commend you for all the work you seem to be doing for all our brave men and women in the military. But this call for “unity” seems, to me, to be both premature and frankly one-sided because again, you seem to have forgotten Brat’s victory and/or don’t seem all that concerned about supporting his candidacy. http://davebrat.com
Finally the e-mail you quoted doesn’t seem divisive at all. To me. What is so divisive about it, specifically? Simply because it calls for an ousting of the establishment in Washington?
Please note I’m not advocating anyone “stay home” in November. I certainly won’t even though I’m from Maryland. It’s our duty to vote because men better than you and I died to gain us such a privilege. But I will not say to another that a vote cast against a despicable, dishonorable, cowardly establishment GOPer is “helping the other side” (whatever that means in such a race anyway). Not anymore. NOT, after Mississippi.
It’s time we conservatives realize we are fighting two fronts, one against the Democrats and one against the elitists. This is the sad state of affairs we find ourselves in, that’s just the fact if the situation. Calls for “unity” are meaningless under such conditions. Especially BEFORE any presidential primaries take place.
Bottom line will I vote for a Republican in a general election? Most likely yes, no matter how liberal he may be, just to get the majority in the houses. With some grievous exceptions. Cochran comes to mind here. If I lived in MS, I wouldn’t vote for him, because you know what Ms. Perlson (and anyone else reading this)? He doesn’t really care for conservatism either, which means he doesn’t care for the troops. You can take that to the bank.
And any call for “unity”.
This board over the past years has become infested with Libertarians and an anti-Morman-Romney-Republican wolf pack....and we all know it.
Dare disagree with them and the name-calling, false charges of "censorship" and other daggers erupt along with never-ending nitpicking and deliberate arguments.......resulting in lengthy, eye-glazing contentious threads. It's been an unhappy turn on this board to an extent I never thought I'd see on FR. Many of us know how the ranks have thinned and donations shut off here because of just what I'm referring to.
I have noticed that the name "Romney" on this board has become the trigger-word symbol of this anti-GOP pack who want to stir us to defeat by any means......just as the name "Bush" is the symbol for the Obama leftists to stir the GOP to defeat......even though the two names at this moment in time are largely irrelevant.
Even on today's threads Romney's name is all over this forum, again, as a trigger-word employed as a rallying point for those who want us STAY HOME on election day or VOTE FOR A LOSER THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATE..
We must concentrate on one thing now...the November election. We conservatives must show our strength to the GOPe at this time. We must have a GOP sweep from top to bottom this fall. This means work in supporting the most conservative candidates on the GOP side, no matter their flaws (within reason, of course, for all you roving pack-pouncers out there).
Then we will have a delicious two years to work on flushing out the GOPe-ers with some real plan of action and with some real unity.
If we don't shape up and unite to show our power for November, and the Dems and subversives keep the Senate again, and maintain control of the Executive for two years, WE WILL LOSE THE SUPREME COURT FOR OUR LIFETIME AND FOR OUR CHILDREN ALSO. Sleep on THAT one!
I AM ANDREW BREITBART.
I am NOT, I repeat, I am NOT one of the lemmings, agitators. moles and/or suicidal uber-independents who march around this board night and day determined to lead us over the political cliff to our inevitable demise.

Thanks for that post.
I do not participate in the hard-core political discussions, but I agree with you.
We have to stick together or we are lost-—and if we are lost the country is lost.
Maybe some will have to give a little, but that’s politics.
.
So we should stick together?
How do we stick together with the people who continue to kick us in the face repeatedly?
We always talked about having to kill civilians on such missions, but I have yet to hear of a team doing it.
The SAS and Special Forces both ran into the situation in Desert Storm and didn’t.
One thing that tends to get overlooked in the 2012 analyses (altho it did pop up in a couple threads last week) is that Romney’s GOTV effort collapsed on election day when his GOTV system (ORCA) fell to pieces.
Without there being any sort of backup plan to get a huge chunk of voters out to the polls. Based on the analyses I saw at the time ORCA’s implosion was revealed that, more than any other factor, kept Romney from the Presidency.
I’m hopeful that the new GOTV system the GOP has thrown $100 mil into works. And that the GOP has folks talking to the Brat Campaign, which managed to lay their hands on the Democrat’s GOTV methodology.
