Twenty-eight years after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, its effects are still being felt as far away as Germany in the form of radioactive wild boars.
Wild boars still roam the forests of Germany, where they are hunted for their meat, which is sold as a delicacy.
But in recent tests by the state government of Saxony, more than one in three boars were found to give off such high levels of radiation that they are unfit for human consumption.

That studio that keeps cranking out the Sharknado movies is all over this, I'm sure.

Chernobyl has become a paradise for wildlife, radioactive or not.

Cool!
Don’t need those expensive Night Vision Scopes to hunt them in the dark!

Such a senseless waste of bacon is heartbreaking.

I'm certain the forthcoming SyFy movie will 'splain that.
To: VRWCmember
With that much radiation perhaps the bacon cooks itself?
To: Buckeye McFrog
Use the boars for radiation clean up.

Truffles. They are eating radioactive truffles. I’m telling you, there’s nothing good that comes from eating truffles.

I suspect that they would find many more animal types with serious radioactivity if they looked. Deer in particular absorb radioactive isotopes by eating the lichen on rocks. The lichen live in cracks of rocks and those cracks are where airborne radioactive debris end up after a couple of rains. Deer have historically been the most radioactive so far.
After the 300 plus above ground nuclear events from 1945-62, nasty isotopes were spread over every square inch of earth. There now are no materials of any kind without radioactive content, anywhere.
Don’t expect to hear about the effects anytime from our leadership. Can you imagine how far-reaching these effects are?

That’s what happens when Man starts playing around with stuff that is properly in the province of God.
Which gives me all kinds of warm-and-fuzzies about Genetic Engineering.
