After realizing that people thought Arby’s mainly served roast beef, the company made a poster showcasing a large stack of all the meats on the menu, which includes bacon and brisket, according to The Washington Post.
It worked.
“People started coming in and asking, ‘Can I have that?’” Arby’s vice president of brand and corporate communications Christopher Fuller said.
Arby’s decided to go with it, and the “Meat Mountain” was born. It will not be listed on the menu, but store associates will make it for the customers who request it. At $10, the sandwich includes (from the bottom up) two chicken tenders, 1.5 oz. of roast turkey, 1.5 oz. of ham, 1 slice of Swiss cheese, 1.5 oz. of corned beef, 1.5 oz. of brisket, 1.5 oz. of Angus steak, 1 slice of cheddar cheese, 1.5 oz. roast beef and 3 half-strips of bacon all on a bun.
The sandwich doesn’t fit in the regular clamshell packaging, so if ordered, it comes wrapped in paper.
Series? I just might check that out!
It sounds good but these fast food restaurants need to be careful — if they put too much meat in the sandwich, people may actually taste it and realize they aren’t using the best quality beef.
I was in Dallas a few weeks ago, and had the Flying Pig sandwich at BoneDaddy’s. It has pulled pork, ham, bacon, and hot sausage in it. I had a quart-sized frosty mug of good Texas beer to wash it down.
Good stuff.
