Top pic is a sad one of a deceased amputee in a wheelchair. Possibly a victim of the civil war where amputations were a terror tactic. To survive the civil war and then life as an amputee in a 3rd world country for the next decade or so and then succumb to a disease you’ve probably never heard of is just sad.

Mosquitos you say...How interesting that the huge exponential increase in cases beginning end of May just so happens to coincide with the beginning of rainy season there, the hatching of new wiggle tails and give 10 days or so for the newly infected to become symptomatic. I’m sure that’s a huge coincidence...

Absolutely. Because the stories of Kent Brantly, Nancy Writebol and William Pooley haven’t been reported at all in the US or Europe. Not. At. All.

Because none of those organizations have their own airplanes and those that don’t can’t possibly ever charter one for that purpose. No, we MUST allow flag carriers to do that for us. And carry out any asymptomatic yet infected people that choose to board them on the trip back...Wouldn’t you hate to be a stew who had an accident on the way down there or during the turnaround that NEEDED medical care immediately? Can’t see the stew unions falling for this one. We’ll see though.

They want to move school start from October back to September because they’ve been successful in controlling the outbreak. Hopefully the Port Harcourt cases and anything from the case at LUTH this past couple of days will work out for them.
Any hospital that cannot prevent MRSA infections not only _cannot_ function in an Ebola epidemic.
It will rapidly become a __source___ of Ebola infection.
This is both a function of the hospital's institutional culture and the dominant culture of its patients. This is why I keep making the point about drug addicts being such a public health menace in an Ebola outbreak.
Promiscuous homosexuals, assuming they are not hooked on drugs, lack the irrationality of a drug abuser looking for a fix. They can and likely will respond to public health directives on how to avoid getting the disease from 'Ebola slimed' property. Drug abusers...not so much.
Non-drug abusing promiscuous homosexuals _might_ be an issue after some survive an Ebola infection, but that is a third or fourth order issue in the event of an Ebola epidemic. Gay areas with high crume rates are less 'Gay' than they are drug abusing. In which case, see "drug abuse" above.
