April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

After the war he became a regular poster on FR.
Looks like a Sherman Firefly. One of those killed German tank ace Wittmann and his whole crew,17pdr shell penetrated the turret armour and set off the ammo.
John Wayne they ain’t. More like a brigade of Mickey Rooneys.
I just watched the Audi Murphy movie starring AudiMurphy. Now that was an incredible true life hero. A lot better than Brad Pitt at half the size.
I have a hard time imagining Brad Pitt as a battle hardened solder.
Just try imagining Pitt after a night rolling with Angelina. If that didn’t make him a “battle hardened soldier”, then nothing will.
I could watch it.
Pitt is a pretty solid actor. He’s got a bunch of quality flicks.
Everybody in the world wants to kill tanks. Tanks are wonderful, happy machines. They are sort of a cross between an ice cream truck and a mobile library. And Tankers are the nicest guys around. They always say “Pardon me” before they try to grind you into hamburger with the tracks.
Ahhh, a fellow Wittman aficionado. I built so many Tiger/Wittman models as a child. You know, there is a bit of controversy as to what or who blew him up.
BTW, in my Marine career (1981-85) I was a TOW missile man. I used to fantasize about having a Tiger, Panther, or King Tiger in my sights. T-34s were too damned ugly.
The man had real skills.too bad Wittmann was on the wrong side.
Go to badassoftheweek.com. and look up the Wittman essay. One of the funniest sites on the web—essays on bad asses... Chesty Puller, Wittman, Doc Holliday, Indiana Jones, Al Capone, etc. FUNNY stuff.

The best online game ever played. Drive all the models and prototypes of WWII. I love the Sherman line, getting all the shots bouncing off of my Rhino E2.
Lots of gas stations along the way?

Brad Pitt or not, it looks very good.
Mickey Rooney excellently played a Navy helicopter pilot in the Bridges at Toko-Ri.
Rooney went into the Army in 1944.
