Isn’t it pretty, the cover of the latest issue of TIME?
The paradigm shift continues and the outdated fear of fat is on its way out faster and faster.
You’d wish that some old-school fat phobics subscribed to the magazine. Unfortunately, I think this is hoping for too much, so I just emailed the cover to some of them.
Some people will still spread low-fat margarine on their bread as long as they live, as an old habit. But most people will soon realize that not only does it taste bad, but it’s also completely unnecessary.
Consider passing this on to your friends!

I’ve never had that. I’ll have to see if I can find it.
I developed a huge hatred of oleo when as a child, I could taste the oleo in my mother’s baked goods. It was a distinctly worse taste than butter...and my mother’s baked goods were excellent. When I was on my own, I bought butter only...no margarine. Ate eggs and other dairy products too when many were omitting those items from their diets.
I tried fat-free salad dressing once and almost got sick; it was too sweet, and it had a nasty gelatinous texture. Fat-free cream cheese is rubbery. And have you ever put fat-free half & half in your coffee? I had to once, at my MIL's house. It took about half the container to change the color of the coffee, and I still couldn't taste it in there.

Yes! Fat free half & Half. Gross! Salad dressing, Gross! To me the absolute worse is the fat free cheese! ugh! My sister made cheesy potatoes with fat-free cheese, margarine, and fat-free sour cream! It was like a big lump of cement in my stomach for days!
I’d agree with you except for transfers. They are without a doubt man made poison.
It’s all about over-eating folks. That is what make speople fat. Yes certain foods that are processed and heavy on the carbs and sugar will speed the getting fat along, but if you don’t over-eat, you likely won’t get fat.
Life is too short to try and kill yourself by eating “healthy”.
LOL, ugh.
Soooo ... where’d my belly come from and how do I get rid of it ?
Some people are salt sensitive, they should restrict salt intake. Recommending everybody going on a low salt diet is where they went wrong.
One thing that drives me batty, is reading an article that says “Studies now show-—” I always look to see who is behind that particular agenda.
It is hard to keep away from some processes stuff, but eating as natural as possible is good. Lots of vegetables, fruit, here, and no holds on meat. I just wish there were things like quinoa dumplings or gnocchi!
What, 50 lbs of margarine? (just kidding)
I tried some none butter once. Just once.

Same here, but it was Grandmother. She died peacefully in her sleep. 91 years old.

I thought it was settled science.
I think the easy test to determine if it ok to eat is has it been consumed for over 500 years?
Remarkably, George McGovern is given appropriate blame for the ridiculous war on fat, and in the first few paragraphs. I saw this issue at the doctor’s office, and read most of the article, should have lifted their copy of the mag I think.
Liberal elite fashionistas were wrong about everything else too... ‘butter’ is one of many - others:
white bread, what kids should eat for lunch, global warming, peak oil, club of rome, green energy, sugar, school choice, gun control, socialism, .... etc etc etc....
“find out what works for you”>>>>>
That is absolutely true, we are all different and things that make one person sick...... will make another person well. It takes a little trial and error time to find out what works best for you.
