Not even one in the U.S.
Where’s the list of best airports regardless of size? I’d put in Norfolk, VA Airport as one of the best - a very pleasant place.
Not 1 U.S. airport I see.
The elites have made flying a living hell.
“Not even one in the U.S”
Are you surprised???
Reagan National’s redo a few years ago could put it in contention architecturally, but like all US airports, it’s still fairly mediocre AND boring. Taxpayers would revolt were we to invest heavily in a ‘show’ airport anywhere in the U.S.A.
What? Where is Danang on that list?
I’ve always wanted to go to Singapore. Add it to our list.
I’ve never been to Norfolk, but Austin has a nice airport. Most domestic airports I fly to are pigpens designed to torture passengers, with officious local “security” outside and officious TSA “security” inside; terrible rental car access; cattle call luggage recovery, etc., etc.
It’s interesting that most of the Asian airports graded out well in cleanliness. If the Japanese and Koreans I know are good indicators of these cultures, you can probably eat right off the floor in those airports.
As I recall, Danang’s airport wasn’t so great in 1969.
Augusta, GA has a very small airport, but is one of the most pleasant airports that I’ve been in.
I can agree with Vancouver, it’s a very nice airport but Heathrow?! Someone’s had a few pints too many.
Holy Cow. I have been in 8 out of 10 of the airports and stayed in each city either on business or vacation. The only two I did not fly in or out of the airport is Vancouver and Zurich.
I checked the list to be sure Athens, Greece, wasn’t on there as a good airport. I will never forget the filthy restroom with flies on the toilet seat.
I have been to several of those “good” airports on the list. As long as the airport is clean, restrooms clean, and they provide transportation (motorized carts/whatever) to get to a gate if it is far away, and there is somewhere near to grab a food/drink to eat before having to board, the airport is fine. Shopping isn’t important - getting where you have to be, is.
Id put in Norfolk, VA Airport as one of the best - a very pleasant place.
I wholeheartedly agree. I would add Pittsburg to the mix too.
Yeap. I am sure if there were a bottom 10 major airports the US would fill that up. The three NYC metro airports would make that list. With the NIMBYs, corruption, and enviro/labor rules, Asia is going to leave us in their dust.
I’ve been privileged to visit Singapore, Amsterdam, Zurich & Heathrow...and Danang. I would rank them in that order, too. Singapore is awesome.
Danang in 2004 was not too bad.
Danang (departing) in 1969 was the gate to heaven!
:-)
I enjoy the new Terminal B in San Antonio.
See my Post #17 and reconsider...
:-)
How about a list of the worst large airports?
The U.S. airports would definitely make that list. Atlanta, Dulles, New Orleans, LAX. The regional jet terminal for Houston Bush is absolutely the worst. Not surprised that no US airports made the best list.
