.....Course we did a lot of camping so Dad could hunt or fish.....

Memories when Audrey hit, we were camping ,Tarp as a tent mosquito bars and some old mattress for beds and we ran trot-lines all nite catching catfish when the bayou was low, fishing the deeper pools. Now them was the days ;)

Temp is close to 5 above tonight. Our little beach house supports the seed starter and is where we transplant the little guys.
They will stay in their packs for about a month, then another step, including the beginning of hardening off, in March.
We have three big raised beds. Our property is mostly oaks and other hardwoods. There is a section of our land near the house that gets decent sunlight and that's where the sprouts will go sometime in April.

If the straps start to bother you, I recommend this:

Hope the CPAP works out for you!

I didn’t realize tobacco is such a beautiful plant.

We never actually got caught out camping in anything other than high winds and rain/hail, thank goodness. I remember when we got a little trailer, and said goodbye to the tents.

I can’t remember the name, but the trailer was nifty. You opened the door and there was the mattress, so you took your shooes off and climbed in. Put the shoes on a wooden shelf at the head of the bed (double size).

At the foot of the bed was a bunkbed/hammock. There were a few cubby holes under the shoe shelf for clothes, and a windo opposite the door for cross currents of air. The tables were fold up over the trailer wheels on each side.

The kitchen was in the back. You raised the cover kinda like a curved trunk. There was a little sink which had a water tank, a space for the coleman stove, and an ice box, along with storage for dishes, pantry, and soap.

When it rained the trunk lid kinda helped keep the water off. It was the most fun, because people were always stopping to talk to us while we cooked, and wanted to see it. It was small enough to pull over mountains in our car.

Ahh the memories of youth.LOL

Thanks for the warm thoughts! We have regained some of our water, though still in mild drought. The people south of us are the one’s that are really hurting the worst, I think.

Here is what mine looks like. It came with cushion pads for the straps. I haven’t used them, because it’s just one set, so I just use cotton makeup squares when I need them, and then throw them away.

Thanks for the link, though, I book marked it to explore more later.

I showed your plant to my teeny tiny tobacco seedlings and ordered them to grow big and strong like that.

How old is your plant?

I know flowering tobacco (same genus) is grown for its fragrant (and showy) flowers. Does the smoking variety have fragrant flowers also?

Welcome. It was easy to get used to, and not a bit claustrophobic.

Yes, that’s what I am hearing too. It’s a shame. I’d probably hardscape what wasn’t being used for gardens, and research some of the dessert solutions for growing stuff to see if I could get the most out of what I had.

If it keeps up, I just don’t know what some of those areas are going to do.

Sometime in November, I think it came up. I didn't mark that on the calendar because it doesn't count, it's a rebel. ;)

It has pretty flowers. I don't know if they are fragrant. The only time I would have had a chance to smell them, I was working in the garden, and pretty fragrant myself.

I don’t know. I also wonder if it has the same benfits as tobacco for insecticide and wasp sting treatment.

That sounds like a teardrop trailer. They are enjoying a resurgence today.

I think that is what it was called. I did know that they are enjoying a comeback, and are quite reasonably priced. We have no need for one, since we don't camp anymore.

Well we do go to Branson’s Treasure Lake Resort, and rent a 2 bedroom 1&1/2 bath air conditioned trailer with TV and full kitchen.LOl

The resort has tent camping spots, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone using it. The first time Hubby and I went there we had tents, but it was raining cats and dogs, and most of the tent sites were too muddy to consider.

Then we found out that they had trailer rentals so we rented one of the traditional trailers. Bed at one end with bunk over head. Table and booth type seats on the other that make into a bed, and sink, camper stove, and refrigerator in between.

Over the years, their rentals have gotten fancier and fancier. Lots of people go there and use their own campers, 5th wheelers etc. It's a great little place, it didn't cost my parents much, and they left it to me, since I was the only one that went there consistently over the years.

The kids love the indoor and outdoor pools, clubhouse, tennis courts, and miniature golf among some of the activities. The Imax theater rents space at the front of the resort, and there's some eating places and shops there inside the complex, also a regular 4 plex theater.

Anyhow my kids and grand-kids love it, and it's really cheap way to visit the area. Short distance away from Silver Dollar City too.
