We never actually got caught out camping in anything other than high winds and rain/hail, thank goodness. I remember when we got a little trailer, and said goodbye to the tents.
I can’t remember the name, but the trailer was nifty. You opened the door and there was the mattress, so you took your shooes off and climbed in. Put the shoes on a wooden shelf at the head of the bed (double size).
At the foot of the bed was a bunkbed/hammock. There were a few cubby holes under the shoe shelf for clothes, and a windo opposite the door for cross currents of air. The tables were fold up over the trailer wheels on each side.
The kitchen was in the back. You raised the cover kinda like a curved trunk. There was a little sink which had a water tank, a space for the coleman stove, and an ice box, along with storage for dishes, pantry, and soap.
When it rained the trunk lid kinda helped keep the water off. It was the most fun, because people were always stopping to talk to us while we cooked, and wanted to see it. It was small enough to pull over mountains in our car.
Ahh the memories of youth.LOL
That sounds like a teardrop trailer. They are enjoying a resurgence today.
The trailer sound like it had a good setup . The Audrey trip was before all the early warning we have now , of-course we didn’t even have a radio with us.
