Well we do go to Branson’s Treasure Lake Resort, and rent a 2 bedroom 1&1/2 bath air conditioned trailer with TV and full kitchen.LOl
The resort has tent camping spots, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone using it. The first time Hubby and I went there we had tents, but it was raining cats and dogs, and most of the tent sites were too muddy to consider.
Then we found out that they had trailer rentals so we rented one of the traditional trailers. Bed at one end with bunk over head. Table and booth type seats on the other that make into a bed, and sink, camper stove, and refrigerator in between.
Over the years, their rentals have gotten fancier and fancier. Lots of people go there and use their own campers, 5th wheelers etc. It's a great little place, it didn't cost my parents much, and they left it to me, since I was the only one that went there consistently over the years.
The kids love the indoor and outdoor pools, clubhouse, tennis courts, and miniature golf among some of the activities. The Imax theater rents space at the front of the resort, and there's some eating places and shops there inside the complex, also a regular 4 plex theater.
Anyhow my kids and grand-kids love it, and it's really cheap way to visit the area. Short distance away from Silver Dollar City too.
We used to camp, but we gave away all the tent camping stuff. Now we camp at the motel with king size bed, fridge and microwave. It comes with daily clean beds and such. That’s roughing it for us. We do take a fully loaded large ice chest and tailgate somewhere on the side of the mountain at a safe location. Our picnics are a favorite activity of ours, since we take everything you could want for a meal under the trees, or by the river or lake.
