Survivor: Cagayan — Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty is the 28th season of Survivor. It begins Wednesday, February 26, 2014 on CBS at 8/7c with a special two-hour episode.
As with the last season, this season takes place in Cagayan, Philippines. This is the fourth consecutive season that Survivor has taken place in the Philippines
It has been reported from several sources that there will be no Redemption Island. I hope this is true. I guess we'll find out.
Celebrity cast members include Miami Marlins president David Samson, former NBA all-star Cliff Robinson, former San Francisco 49ers cheerleader Morgan McLeod, professional poker player Garrett Adelstein, and MMA fighter Sarah Lacina (she's also a cop).

Wow, I like a show with all new players.
With that said, the “Brains” team sure didn’t have any “survivor brains”. Just about everything they did as individuals and team was a mistake.
But starting out with a six person team really brings out the care you need to take in picking alliances. Garret’s choice to go after Dave first - and then his open meeting - flipped Kass and now she’s low person in a three person alliance.
The other teams had a number of individual “mistakes” that will not come out until they go to tribal.
And what is with that “hair stylist” & her dreadlocks? Talk about a walking contradiction!
And could they have found anyone gayer than Brice?
I think this season is gonna give Survivor Thailand a run for their money as the worst season ever!

Dave, the executive with the Floriduh Marlins, who is supposed to have business savvy and understand the game, shows up in an expensive sportcoat and then unilaterally decides to get rid the biggest and strongest teammate at the beginning of the game when that is the time when big strong guys are needed.
No wonder the Floriduh Marlins can’t win with executive decision-making like that — and it all went downhill from there.
Can you imagine the next three days there as they all stare hungrily into the fire at the spilled rice with Spencer commenting.

Gawd, that mess of hair was nasty! I wanted someone to take the hedge trimmers to it. Not me, though. I wouldn’t want to get that close to it out of fright of what might jump out. Did you see how she was flopping it back and forth while trying to swim? Ugh!
At least Brice admits he’s gay. Garret is even more gay and needs to come out of the closet. I don’t care what his bio said, he is flaming. Whaa, Survivor isn’t fun! Whaa, this isn’t a vacay and they expect me to work and get all sweaty. Then he’s posing in a field of flowers and showing off his package in that underwear, ick. First episode and they already had at least one fuzzy spot hiding it.
And what’s with all the underwear? Did they not realize they needed to pack their swimsuits? David’s suit might be silly at first, but the jacket would have been a good idea for keeping warm, as a sun screen and a pillow. But come on, people, wear swim trunks and bikinis. Tight or old nasty loose men’s underwear is creepy and distracting in not a good way. Women in bras and panties is just stupid when they could have worn a bikini that is lined and better elastic. It’s more than obvious they are showing off for the cameras rather than playing the game.
This season, or at least this first episode is bringing back the first Survivor where we get to know the contestants. About time. A big thumbs up, thanks, Mark.
J’Tia would not be eating dinner after Tribal if I had anything to say. I’d also have immediately smothered the fire and spent the rest of the day picking out the rice. Don’t you know that she’ll be the one to find Garrett’s immunity idol. She should have been the first out and Garrett second. Kass is this close to going and needs to keep that “honesty” in check. Tasha is going to keep her sista’ J’Tia on the island no matter what. This isn’t PC, but they should put all four blacks on a team and then we’ll see a real game without all this voting on color. Ok, how many are now scared to their bones of J’Tia being anywhere around nuclear engineering?
The Cliff/Woo bromance needs to be nipped in the bud or they’ll go far.
Tony is already blabbing about being a cop after he said he’d not tell. Anyone else burst out laughing when he said he wasn’t going to tell anyone about finding the immunity idol? He’s also going to tell about his little spy corner which will get him into big time trouble.
Everybody who saw that episode and everybody at her workplace have their hands up waving.
Why do I get the feeling that Spencer will drive that point home next week before he is given a heads up by production to look into Garrett's pack.

My money is on J’Tia being nosey enough to snoop in Garrett’s bag and claim the II so production better pull Spencer over during the first restroom break after the TC to clue him in.
Yep and we can add Garrett’s name to a long list of contestants who went home with the ii in their packs.
This season there is going to be an idol that can be played after the reading of the votes — not sure how that is going to go over.

This episode is entitled “Cops-R-Us.” I wonder if that means the two cops are going to make an alliance.
That would be a safe bet. Seeing as how the one said he would never tell the other and then turns around and in last weeks previews of this week goes ahead and tells her.
The weather report for the next 30 days on Cagayan is [was] rain and lots of it.
We can expect a lot of challenges, ii searches, meals, strategizing, and tribal councils in upcoming episodes to be conducted under torrents of rain.
According to Jeff — this is Survivor the way it should be.
The last one was "Hot Girl with a Grudge" and that was a bit of a misdirection.
