"It's crazy out there, and getting crazier by the day."
Haven't heard Grant in years. He was right on that point.

He had a l-o-n-g successful run. RIP. Ya done good. Heaven knows you had enough material handed to you on a silver platter from NYC.
Mostly listened on my endless commute....he never missed a day, when a liberal caller sneaked through the queue and he’d shout..*YOU FAKE, PHONEY, FRAUD!* ....or promote ^mandatory sterilization.*
RIP knowing Alan Dershowitz despised you. LOL

Wow... why isn't this in Breaking News?
Sad news... Bob Grant paved the way for Rush Limbaugh, and all the other conservative talk radio hosts.
Rest in Peace, Bob. May God comfort his family and friends...

...and Sean Hannity owes his career to Bob Grant being fired at WABC over the Ron Brown nonsense. Never could come close to filling Bob’s shoes.

'Jimmy from Brooklyn's wisdom needs to be spread far and wide. I've never heard anyone on radio - host or caller - that understands the menace of Communism more.
Hopefully, he'll become a regular on other shows now.

Mark Levin, love em, or hate em, he is the most knowledgeable constitutional lawyer type on the radio.... Now that is not saying much is as he is the ONLY constitutional lawyer that is on the air.
Despite his claims to being, "the great defender of the Constitution," I find him to be cafeteria constitutionalist. Where was he on Obama's eligibility issue? ..... (chirping).
Big mouth, no balz.

There's copying someone and there's using someone's signature line as a tribute. Levin uses Bob Grant's signature dismissal line as a tribute. Hannity, who replaced Grant on WABC, does the same with, "Straight ahead," to go into breaks. Been listening to him for years and I have NEVER heard him mention that he was giving tribute to Bob Grant by using those signature phrases.
The Great One is what Hannity calls Levin and the name stuck so he uses the Gleason music.
If he knows it was Gleason's name, why doesn't he disavow it because Gleason "owns" it?
As I said to another poster, Levin has a big mouth, but no balz.

There was a guy named "T-Shirt Harry" who sold shirts with the "Salute to Mario". I bought two, one for me and one for my dad, who was also a huge Bob Grant fan. I still have mine.
I got hooked on Bob while I was in college. First he made me laugh with all his crazy sayings, especially when he called some guy a "cafone" or yelled "Get off my phone!" Before long he made me think, too. I got his autograph when he did a signing for his book Let's Be Heard. I think he got canned from WABC not long after that. When I got the news, I was devastated.
It was Bob Grant who made me a talk radio junkie. RIP Bob. You were always saying "I've gotta get outta here!" Now you're outta here, and I hope you're in a better place.

'Jimmy from Brooklyn's wisdom needs to be spread far and wide. I've never heard anyone on radio - host or caller - that understands the menace of Communism more. Hopefully, he'll become a regular on other shows now.He called on Savage occasionally, as recently as a few months ago, but Savage kept "potting down" his line, and talking over him. The one caller he had that was worth a damn, and he treats him like he does all the other schmucks that call his show. Unbelievable.
Oh, how I pine (Pyne?) for the days of talk radio in the 90s to about 2002/3...

You’re serious about this? You must really dislike Levin.

Been listening to him for years and I have NEVER heard him mention that he was giving tribute to Bob Grant by using those signature phrases. In fairness to Levin, he did mention his tribute to Bob on many occaisions, (before getting downsized, I listened to Levin literally every night) and he even had Bob on for his last birthday. A lot of jealousy abounds in talk radio, but Levin was a fan and understood Bob's place in the whole scheme of things.

On then Mayor David Dinkins The mens washroom attendant Bob Grant was adamant that he never referred to Mayor Dinkins as a "washroom" attendant. He called him "The Men's Room Attendant" because Grant said Dinkins reminded him of a Men's Room attendant at 21, the famous restaurant of power brokers in New York.
Ironically, the real men's room attendant at 21 passed away recently.
