There's copying someone and there's using someone's signature line as a tribute. Levin uses Bob Grant's signature dismissal line as a tribute. Hannity, who replaced Grant on WABC, does the same with, "Straight ahead," to go into breaks.

Been listening to him for years and I have NEVER heard him mention that he was giving tribute to Bob Grant by using those signature phrases.

The Great One is what Hannity calls Levin and the name stuck so he uses the Gleason music.

If he knows it was Gleason's name, why doesn't he disavow it because Gleason "owns" it?

As I said to another poster, Levin has a big mouth, but no balz.

You’re serious about this? You must really dislike Levin.

In fairness to Levin, he did mention his tribute to Bob on many occaisions, (before getting downsized, I listened to Levin literally every night) and he even had Bob on for his last birthday. A lot of jealousy abounds in talk radio, but Levin was a fan and understood Bob's place in the whole scheme of things.
