I agree...the 40 days gives us a focused reflection. But the birth story is in some ways so primal, so core!

Because of her childhood family not allowing her to own that day we definitely make sure she owns it now.

Sitting in my rocking chair, facing the front door with my shotgun on my lap, which is what I tell everyone on the Internet who asks this question.

Visiting my brother's family in the heart of Silicon Valley for Christmas. Will likely post on FR from my brother's house on my laptop.

Yes, I find Christmas to be the time for joyous reflection, and Easter to be the time for solemn reflection. Both are absolutely essential.

Changed my plans.
Going to bar with you!
Lol.

was wondering there for a few minutes whether the eggnog was too strong for you, but it all worked out well. It's not easy being a master of suspense!

I'm going to post that I'm travelling to Austin, but I'm actually going to stay here, laying in wait for the criminals that read internet forums to show up to rob me blind.

I'll be going on vacation from my address at 1234 Elm Street, Ft. Collins, Colorado from December 21 to January 1.
I'll be leaving hundreds of dollars in presents under the tree until I get back.
I hope that nobody finds my spare key which I keep under the welcome mat on the front porch, as all of my neighbors will be out of town too, and nobody will be watching my house.

My wife is away taking care of her mother who was not expected to last until Christmas but now it looks like she will, which will be a gift to us all. I won’t open any presents or do any celebrating until she returns in late January.

We always stay home for Christmas. We used to drive down to PA to my parents for Christmas but I stopped doing it because I didn’t want my son’s memories of Christmas being a six hour drive every year. I don’t like driving on holidays anymore.

Going down to Maryland to be with the kid and her family. Really looking forward to it, the baby is 14 months, so he should really enjoy everything!

LOL, yes, that is a good old fashioned Jewish Christmas! Enjoy it very much. Maybe you can get the waiters to sing to you like in “A Christmas Story”.
