Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson and his family believe they have been ‘hung out to dry’ by TV network A&E after he was suspended for homophobic comments made in a magazine interview, MailOnline can reveal.
Sources within the close-knit Louisiana clan say they are convinced A&E are manipulating the controversial situation to bring them – and particularly Robertson – back into line after Television executives grew tired of the family pushing their deeply-held, Christian beliefs.
They also think the network could have done something to stop the controversial GQ article being made public, because an A&E representative was present during the interview with patriarch, Roberston, 67.

I have also read on FR that the Robertsons have complained that A&E “bleeps” words to make it seem like they are cursing when they are not. Other complaints were editing out as much Christian content as possible. Whether one believes the claims depends upon whether you think the left is honest. I tend to give credence to the Robertsons complaints based on FReeper opinion.
Well, that makes as much sense as refusing to shop at Lowes because Home Depot carries some of the same products.
I’d suggest that everyone who supports the Robertsons go out and buy a Duck Commander duck call. The next time there’s a Tea Party rally or an Independence Day parade or any public gathering where you want to announce your conservative values, bring the duck call along and “quack” away.

I’ve never seen anything like that so it’s probably as exaggerated as the claim that the show promotes the family’s faith.
Your posting would imply that you are not a viewer of the show. Catch it and see if you can see anything that looks/sounds as tho’ it’s been bleeped. Don’t take anyone’s word for it.
Of course, the left is honest. How dare you question it. obozo tells us how great the left is every time he shows his face which is much too often!!!!
I’ll bet he even left a crisis unattended to in DC so he can hop on Air Force One and leave his vacation in HI to take care of it. It lets us all know how very important he is. OR - even better - they will create one that will need his immediate attention...

Criticizing immoral actors in our culture is essential. Avoiding financial support for these same immoral actors is nearly impossible, apart from going completely off grid. Who’s the maker of Windows, or the mac OS? Raging libs who are aiding and abetting the rise of the socialist police state. Anyone living in this society is enriching both libs and conservatives. So at that level this comparison of degrees of non-participation makes no sense to me.
I view this whole problem as more like the Roman roads. They were built by Rome using confiscatory taxation for purposes of enabling and furthering Roman tyranny. By standards of this thread, no one truly principled should have used those roads. But they did. In fact Paul and other early Christian missionaries used them to great effect in spreading the Gospel.
Likewise, cable, internet etc are essential infrastructure in the conduct of modern culture. And they, like Roman roads, can be deployed for good or evil. Phil & company have defied the stereotype they were designed to reinforce, and have therefore become a liability rather than an asset to the left. This happened at the literal expense of leftist would-be social engineers who run most of our technology infrastructure. It will happen again. Phil & his gang took advantage of that infrastructure as an opportunity to teach others about Jesus, despite it being necessary to share the rewards of their success with bad people. Ultimately God owns everything, and drives his possessions to serve his purposes.
So we should definitely protest abusers of public morals like A&E. But I’m with Paul on this one. We can’t avoid dealings with unbelievers in this mortal life. Better to do like Phil and find ways to leverage our opportunities, of whatever kind, to the furtherance of the Gospel, even if it means paying Bill Gates to post on FR.
Refusing to allow the left to flood your home with trash is your choice. I don't miss TV.

The world has changed a lot since the Liar in Chief became Prez. FReepers always knew what he was.
We fight the battles that we can. Doing nothing isn’t an option. If we’ve been given tools or weapons by the “enemy” then we use them.
The Robertsons don’t need A&E or “Duck Dynasty” to be successful. Telling the network to stick their show would hurt the network financially far more than the family.

I’m waiting for someone - anyone - to show me exactly how that has been accomplished in this TV show. Like I said in an earlier post perhaps I’ve missed those shows OR was it after I turned them off because of Phil’s crudity? For people to say he could have chosen better words to reply to the question, I don’t believe he could have. He wouldn’t have known how.

Like I said in my first post, I’m in the minority. The only reason I posted was because I’ve waited the past few days for someone to say the things I was thinking. How do people see the sin and degradation of homosexuality and not the crude and uncouth manner of Phil Robertson? AND NO, I am not comparing the two. I know I’m a pretty old fossil but surely I can’t be the only one left in the country that is turned off by his manner. I suppose if it was an issue, people would say that A&E writes the scripts for him to be more mainstream. HA! Then why not the rest of the family? I really can’t get over the older generation being more smutty than the younger one.
Go to Wal-Mart, get an inside passive digital antenna $50 or less, fasten to top-most window-pane near your TV and enjoy OTA HD programming. It takes about 2 weeks max to deal with Cable/satellite TV withdrawal. Then, your life will be better without the cable or satellite disc. Thank me later.

If you want to boycott all evil, then do not leave home. I do not support evil, but I do pay taxes that are used to fund planned parenthood. Did you pay your taxes this year are are you going to take that stand you are making here?
There is evil outside my house, but it is not allowed inside. You obviosly support the Internet, which is full of the most vile evil known. Did you cancel that? Everytime you pay your Internet bill you are supporting the vehicle of porn into your home. It is in YOUR home via the internet, even though you do not watch it.
I choose what I watch and who I do business with but to cancel someone because they support someone else HAS NO END.
I disagree with A&E and I support Christians that speak out quoting scriptures as Phil did. I do not watch DD and I will not start, but I will also not give up the positive veiwing I enjoy, as there are channels that are worth having. I am not giving them up, just as you and I will not give up our Internet.
And the Bunker houeshold was a microcosm of the US. Liberals lived and slept under Archie's roof. Liberals watched his TV and sat on his furniture. Liberals enjoyed his heat and ate his food. Liberals constantly told him how wrong he was on everything.

THEN why is his home on the TV show shown as an average ranch style home with outdoor sheds/barns? Is that what they build for gated communities in Louisiana? Granted the boys have pretty terrific looking mansions but Phil?
Don’t tell me we’re going to find out that the portrayal of the family is totally bogus. I started watching the show when I first saw the elder Robertson living like the rest of us in spite of his multimillionaire status.
You can not warn somebody not to refrain from religious speech. And being an employer does not exempt you from that law. Read Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
Because he has a huge gated compound doesn’t mean he has a huge multi-million dollar home. They may very well live in the ranch house with the sheds, but it’s a large gated property (I read 20,000 acres) and it’s fenced.
The headline is misleading in my opinion but then again, it’s just a guess on my part.
