Anyone who opposes the Affordable Care Act is a subhuman. It is a great law but lying republicans are trying to destroy it. I signed up with no problem on the website. Republicans want to repeal my new insurance. Obama is a hero!

I know about Joe E Brown and the park but not Turkey Foot Rock. Heard Manhattan BLVD isn’t a boulevard anymore either.

So we have made it to 2014. Is 0n has not killed us all, and in spite of Algore we are not all roasting to death from Glowbull Warmthing. In this neck-of-the-woods those prognosticators of impending weather events InaccuWeather, WutherChunnel, and NOAH - er, wait a minute, I think he's from a different ERA - anyway, all of 'em are strongly suggesting that starting sometime tomorrow we will begin to experience Glowbull Warmthing in its solidified form blessing us from the sky.
So here's my offering for all y'all (hey, I'm in Southern New York.. ;-)
Happy New Year!!! Extra points awarded if anyone (other than the photographer, myself, and probably Darksheare) can tell me details about the subject of this photo... ;-)

would guess Mass. From your general location, if you faced New England you would be facing in the more-or-less correct direction..
It's here..

Diesel electric from GM
Correct. What model? Bonus points if you can tell me the horsepower. Hint: you can do that without knowing the model of locomotive... ;-)
buckeye coupling
You mean the one patented by Janney? Funny that you Brits would remember that it came from the Buckeye State while over here we don't even remember the inventors name (we think his name was 'knuckle'.. ;-)
drivers name was Sidney....
I really don't think so. If this Railroad had/has an engineer by that name, I never met him. Of course, I haven't met all of them.. ;-)

Snowbath heading west.
At a guess...3 to 5 khp.
Model , tonight no idea. Will get back on that.
That type of coupling has always just been known as a Buckeye, ‘ere.
It has been used on HSTs since the 1970s and freight from the early 90s.
Not Sidney. ...so what was Sidney doing that morning then, hmmmm.

"I drank plenty of water, so felt fine when I got up." I think I have too much water in my system. I need to drink some beer to even out the electrolytes.

I was doing some compulsory outdoor work today, and was “talking” to a birdie. It must have been a mockingbird because the call was atypical—sounded like a bar from a song as opposed to an actual bird call.

I think the mockingbird seeks to intimidate rivals by appearing to be a multitude of birds.
But when you listen to them, it’s hard not to think that they may be singing for the sheer joy of it.

Tom played a video of a kookaburra on his iPod for Kathleen. She was very amused. “Elk sounds” is still her favorite, though.
