After a year roaming the surface of Mars, NASA has failed to find any evidence that its atmosphere is supporting life, it was revealed today.
The Curiosity rover currently scanning the Red Planet has not detected any methane, a gas that is produced by living things.
Since landing in Gale Crater last year, every morning and evening the car-size probe has analyzed Mars’ air and scanned it with a tiny laser in search of the greenhouse gas.
Not finding it means that it is unlikely that microbes capable of producing the gas are living below the planet’s surface, scientists said today. …

Isn’t NASA supposed to be focusing on making Muslims feel good about themselves?
The Curiosity rover currently scanning the Red Planet has not detected any methane, a gas that is produced by living things....on Earth -- no reason to think Martian life would do the same thing, considering how different Mars is.

Well, now I DO believe in life on Mars.
They wouldn’t say this if they weren’t pretty sure, because holding out the possibility of life on Mars is one of their cards to play when budget season comes around.
Well, then if that is settled they can start figuring out how to set up a colony there.
I guess NASA just forgot that the first half dozen or so probes that were sent to Mars were never scrubbed...
I have a piece of Mars sitting on my coffee table. a tiny (very) Martian meteorite.
No doubt that pieces of the Earths crust has made it the other way. Some containing life.

How does NASA define “life”?
Of course there is no life ON Mars - now we have to send another rover to look for the OBVIOUS life IN Mars!
The methane and water must be underground, held there by a subturanean plastic film of sorts, proving once again, that man is not unique and God doesn’t exist. Never give up - be like the UN committees.
