(CNN) -- No sooner had the tiara been placed atop her head than a barrage of racist tweets flooded the Internet.
"If you're #Miss America you should have to be American," said one.
"WHEN WILL A WHITE WOMAN WIN #MISSAMERICA? Ever??!!" screamed another.
Nina Davuluri is American. She just happens to be of Indian descent. In fact, she's the first Indian-American to be crowned Miss America.
But the tweets that followed the 2014 pageant in Atlantic City on Sunday night didn't focus on how it's the second consecutive year that a Miss New York has taken the crown, or about the judge's questions (including ones about Miley Cyrus and Syria).
They were about Davuluri's heritage.
"Well they just picked a Muslim for Miss America. That must've made Obama happy. Maybe he had a vote," vented one person.
Not that it bears pointing out, but Davuluri's not a Muslim -- and the president didn't have a vote.

Back in the day we had the Polish church festival, the Portuguese church festival, and a couple of Italian Festivals.

Or in other words, the contestant that bests exemplifies America.
Should she have won? I don't think so. Her performance, while not perfect, was amazing, and significantly better than the St. Vitus dance done by the winner. I have little doubt Miss Kansas was not voted for because she is more masculine and feminine than many of the *ahem* male judges. She is an incredibabe!
As for this jerk at CNN, she probably dashed right to the net after the competition, scouring it for such comments so she could do her preselected story. I wonder how many of the comments she found were posted by liberal shills. Are there "conservatives" out there ignorant enough to post such drivel? Sadly, yes. But they are not representative.
Anyone that believes in this day and age that the Pageant does not have an agenda is only fooling themselves. The winner always follows the current political agenda of the day..

Most of the East Indians in this country are Catholic, surpassing the traditional religion of Hinduism in their native country, which is located on the main continent of Asia and not in the Arab/Persian infested area of Asia Minor.
If you are comparing East Indians to arabs and Iranians you might as well join the politically correct low informed masses.
