Turn signals and horn broken - watch for finger!
If you use it here in California other drivers take it as an invitation to block your intended action.
It will if you do it fast enough... ;)
Well now you will have to seek asylum to avoid prosecution .....:o)
I thought it was the auxiliary backup gear shift. Never used it. Or was it the windshield washer lever. All this steering wheel gadgets confuse me.
Just great. Everyone else wants to know what I am doing, as though having the NSA know wasn’t enough.
This past weekend I was invisible to three cars driving on the highway. They wanted to drive into my lane (it was the slow, travel lane) and they clearly did not have this stick.
I was invisible to the deer that hit the side of my silverado going 65 miles an hour. Sucker got up and ran back into the woods. Must have had a helluva headache.
Ha! It is a turn indicator, not a turn-may-I-please-maybe-change-lanes-or.
I have a short commute, and watch my mirrors to keep tabs on traffic. I know pretty well which lanes back up where (turn in at Walmart, bus stop, etc), and generally change lanes in advance to avoid traffic backing up.
However, when I have several car lengths of room, turn on my turn indicator, and the jerk in the other lane decides to speed up to try and block me, I take that as a sure sign they've seen my car and see my turn indicator light. I usually let them get about half a car length off my bumper, then I change lanes.
So far, zero of them have hit me. It's the damnedest thing.
I'm only worried about getting in wrecks with people that don't see me.
that’s you! I’ll find where you live! and you’ll cry when you see what I’ll do to your lawn! :P
The secret device is only to be used when one is going around the world and it should stay on until that is accomplished.
Left blinking for hours means you are starting your trip and the Right one means you are coming back. Please follow the rules, people!
Dang kids.
This 37 year old kid will terrorize your lawn with mowers, ornaments and fertilizer! I’m telling you, my generation knows how to party! heh
Bah, they just tip off other drivers when to cut you off or block you from changing lanes.
Not the gnomes. PLEASE NOT THE GNOMES!
It’s a high cost option. Most car owners refuse to buy them.
Some drivers use it rather deceptively, like a running back uses a good feint — pretending they are going left, then quickly veering off to the right (or vice versa), introducing the element of delightful surprise and uncertainty to the whole endeavor.
Can’t use it. When they drive bymy house their free hand has a cellphone in it.
On my commute, I go through parts of two cities on a heavily traveled commuter route. Once I cross the county line toward this in the morning, the rules change. For most women, if used it's believed by them to be a magic force field that causes all traffic to give way as they simultaneously brake, begin veering over and put on the signal after encroaching into your lane.
Then there are the passive-aggressive types who see signaling as a sign of weakness and speed up to block you. I've had to occasionally deal with cars speeding up to prevent a merge onto an interstate, who then braked to keep me from falling in behind them.
People are really weird and stupid behind the wheel en masse. Between the cell yakkers, the clueless bumblers and the NASCAR-wannabees I'm surprised traffic isn't at a standstill from crashes every morning and every evening.
This sounds exactly like something my mom said before the keys in her car mysteriously disappeared for the final time the day after she turned 90.
She lived in northwestern Missouri and her long driveway led right onto a very, very busy highway with lots of truck traffic barreling along at 60-70 mph. She would always back down her driveway and onto the highway without stopping, looking or missing a beat.
Expressed my extreme concern about it more than once and she would always respond, “Everybody around here knows my car and it used to belong to the minister so nothing bad will ever happen”.
She’s no longer with us but nothing ever did happen to her in that car or to anyone else as a result of her driving habits!
Not in my old Ford 150 truck.
