So I am trying to not make this post into a pity party. I just want to get some input from other Freepers regarding facing these issues in their family. I am a pro-second amendment, pro-life, anti-Obama woman. I am also very strong in my belief in God. Okay, all that said I am in a position where all of my extended family with few exceptions are complete Obama koolaid drinking fanatics, anti-God, pro gay rights, pro abortion up to and including delivery. I have used FB for a while to post my views, I have quite a following because of it. My entire liberal family is blocked from my posts. My comments such as, "those who support abortion are no different than the Germans who stood by and watched while Jews were thrown into ovens" were deemed offensive by them when they were on my FB. I mention that one because they keep throwing it in my face. Anyway, I am at a place where I need to either make peace with some of them for the good of the family by apologizing for offensive comments, or say, "I am who I am, and if it takes me shouting this from the rooftops for it to be heard then so be it." I keep thinking about the American revolution and the Civil War, brothers against brothers, and believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that we are in the fight of our lives under this POTUS. Because those of us willing to stand up and share the truths of what is going on in this country are a minority, I know many of you face the same issues. Any thoughts on how you have handled or would handle it?
Never apologize. You are better off without that bad element in your life.
If they can't, then tell 'em to take a hike.
Leave FB completely and do not look back.

No use in wasting your precious life on folks not worthy of your time.

Because it is out of sight and out of mind, liberals look at abortion as a nothing.
Are you worried about offending that?
I tell the libs in my family that I am for protecting INNOCENT life and saving my wrath for criminals.
Even if we cut that exception of abortions for only rape, incest and the real life and death issue of the mother and you’d still be left with 99.5% of abortions being for selfish reasons.
Bottom line, don’t know if I’d worry about people so offended about you wanting the innocent to live.
Let them get all mad about people on death row living 30 years more compared to the aborted kid.
This Nation is in trouble now because too many people are willing to go along to get along.
I have had a skirmish or two with family members over politics and FB. We’ve gotten past them with a simple discussion about having strong opinions and moving on. Of course, I think they are idiots and they probably think the same of me. I can live with that.
I left FB because of this kind of thing.
Please be aware that FB is RUN by liberals, and they have all kinds of sensitive information about people.
Perhaps you can make peace with your family, but beware of FB...it’s a Trojan Horse.

If you apologize for offending them, you will, in effect, be apologizing for God.

Remember, too, that Jesus said you would be hated for His name’s sake. I don’t give this advice lightly, because it IS your family, but no one and nothing can come before God.
Why are you on facebook?
Get off of FB and every other social medium. Do not ever apologize for aggressively respecting the sanctity of life or for defending American freedoms and values. Usually, family trumps all, but when somebody can justify the killing of babies then you’re just better off with them out of your life.
I just quit talking to a**holes and they if they try to engage me, I laugh maniacally while punching them. I’ve had it.
Never apologize when stating the truth publicly. I’ve had family unfriend me on FB because they don’t like my views. The others simply ignore me, which is fine with me. I answer to God, not my relatives, for what I believe.
Please do not say anything that could be taken as admitting you are wrong about anything.
My oldest daughter is a liberal married to another woman in D.C. Occasionally I will hide a Facebook post of hers.
We have simply agreed to disagree and continue to love each other and not discuss what we do not agree on.
If your family cannot be happy with “I love you, but on this issue we will disagree”, then you have some choices to make that they are forcing, not you. Stick to your guns. If they have any decency at all, they will respect your principled attitude.
Never back down. Never apologize. not for the substance of your views, anyway.

Oh, my. I understand. I would NOT apologize. You could possibly do the, “I am who I am”, routine and add to it that you would like to get along for the sake of family harmony. But don’t cede any ground on your positions. If the liberal nutcases cannot offer peace on your terms, then it might be best to write them off. I have a sister (and her husband) who are poisonous liberals. It is everything I can do at many times to remain civil, and probably 95% of the reason I make that effort is due to my other sister, who is deserving of a decent relationship with both of us, and who would be a victim of a major and permanent rift.
