Ok, What is your fav Christmas music to get you in the spirit? And to get your mind off of four more years of Satan.
All Glory be to God on High - Medieval Christmas Carol
A Renaissance Christmas - Riu, riu, chiu - The Boston Camerata
The Gloucester Wassail By Waverly Consort
The King's Singers Christmas - 'Lullay My Liking'
I also like this very much too- the bells are beautiful and remind me of Christmas morning.
The Chieftains- Bells of Dublin
Then there is one of my favorite classical composers- R. Vaughan Williams
And for something more modern yet still traditional.
The Civil Wars "O Come O Come Emmanuel"
Christmas Time is Here ~ Sarah McLachlan (featuring Diana Krall on piano)"
And.. Crash Test Dummies: The First Noel
That one starts off sort of cheesy, but it always brings a tear to my eyes.
And no Christmas would be complete without this one from my childhood one that is not only one of my favorites but also my parents' and their grandchildren;s my niece and nephew's and now their children,(Funny Rudolph):
And this, believe it or not this is actually one of my favorite versions of Silent Night.
“Santa Claus is coming down your chimney tonight”, if you catch the drift of Leiber/Stoller, is the best line in a Christmas... uh... carol!
Karen Carpenter
That’s the ONE!
Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth.
Yeah! \m/
XTC - Thanks For Christmas

Here was a Man - not really a song, spoken by Johnny Cash
I concur! Also can’t stand Mariah Carey singing her christmas tunes. Stick to the regular stuff, Mariah.
Forgot Handel’s Messiah (the whole thing not just the Hallelujah Chorus)

Ill help you.
When you're finished, will the two of you help me with the bosthoons who play "The Little Drummer Boy"?
Oh, no! I am one of the bosthoons who loves that song. Sorry. Sappy old lady here.
(So, “bosthoon”, is it? Would ye’ be of Irish descent now?)
Scots-Irish, but that's irrelevant to the use of 'bosthoon.'
During the Reagan years, I participated in a silly graduate school exercise with three friends. When someone did or said something stupid, or simply annoyed you, you would look at them with disdain and mutter an insult such as "oaf."
What followed would be an exchange increasing in speed, disdain, and spittal:
"Churl"
"Chuff"
"Bosthoon"
"Vassal"
"Knave"
"Grobian"
"Wanker"
"Gasbag"
"Ninnyhammer"
"Cacafuego"
"Fice"
And so on and so on.
It was most effective when employed in a restaurant or other public place, and if you could arrange for three or more people to be involved.
By spring semester of my second year, we'd combed specialized dictionaries for insulting words and could sustain a contrapuntal burst lasting lasting several minutes.

Here’s the song that SHOULD have been on Bob Dylan’s Christmas album
The (Fabulous) Wailers - Christmas Spirit

And...here's another Washington Christmas song....specifically for the west side of the state...
Finally, this one doesn't really speak of Christmas, per se, but the tune is a Christmas tune, and it's a bit silly. So...why not?
Sippin' in Seattle's Latte Land -The singer is Duffy Bishop, a former Seattleite who has since moved to California. And yes...there is ONE radio station in Seattle that plays this, and only at Christmas.
Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!
