Congratulations to Jim Robinson for His Political Sagacity Overwhelmingly Accurate

Posted on 11/10/2012 3:00:14 PM PST by lbryce

The maelstrom of political controversy regarding Free Republic founder Jim Robinson and his attitude towards the then Republican presidential candidate front runner and odds-on favorite to win the nomination, as anointed by the msm as the weakest candidate in the Repuplican field, was one punctuated by severe criticism of Mr. Robinson for his uncompromising, vituperative take-no-prisoners stance towards the liberal bent, RINO candidate Mr. Romney,as unacceptable under any circumstances as Republican Party nominee in the 2012 presidential election.

While his intensely vociferous stance against Mr. Romney surprised, confused, alienated many, the political rationale for the utter blanket rejection of Mr. Romney as candidate was one that remained fundamentally true to the principles of Conservatism, in that Mr.Romney in his record of being a liberal-bent, RINO, had not earned the right to wear the crown as Repubican party nominee as champion, defender of party principles, when he espouses liberal policies that true Republican conservatives find particularly galling equally unacceptable.

In the end, months after the controversy had died down, the election of 2012 having ended, it comes as no surprise to have ended in the manner in which Mr. Robinson did all that he could and more, the sagacity and prescience in which he had already determined the outcome to the election is one in which should teach us all not to repeat the mistakes of the past and to heed those we have faith and admiration for in their reading of the political map and and its various minefields.

I think that Rom. made a mistake putting Ryan on the ticket. He assumed that the majority would agree that the economy was the biggest issue on everyone’s minds...

He forgot about the segment of the voting public that thought that BO’s evil smile and swagger were really cool.

Rubio may have been a better choice. He woulda brought in Fla. and a good segment of Hispanics.

Actually Michele Bachmann was my first choice with Herman Cain as my second. Rick Santorum was my 3rd choice but I ended up thinking he was the best choice in the first place. The fact that he was able to draw myself and many others to him late in the campaign was a good indicator.

Santorum proved to be the candidate who won primaries outside of his backyard when no one else appeared to be able to. I predicted trouble for Romney when he and Santorum tied in Michigan. In 08, Romney beat McCain here by nearly 10 points. Santorum was simply a lot better at speaking to the guy on the factory floor without pretending to be like him.

Santorum wisely went for the base first. Romney went to urban areas in the primaries but they weren't going to vote for him in the general and didn't.

I thought for a moment that I had been transferred moveon.org. It is unbelievable to see people bragging that Romney lost. Your man did not get the nomination so you and others have cut off your nose to spite your face. You and many Freepers believe that it is better to have a socialist, marxist, muslin to lead this country than a RINO. Anybody would have been better obama. What is God's name were you and others thinking? When obama gets through with all of his tax increases, lost of freedom and spending your money and his family traveling on our dime how will you feel? Now we have to live with this. For the past 30-40 years I have heard too many Third Partiers complaining about not been heard. Get a leader, put your party on county, city and state ballots. Get candidates for the Congress and proceed. Unfortunately there are not enough out there. Remember 1992 and look at what 3000 third party votes did to Utah. Now we have to live with this disaster in the White House. Jeremiah Wright said GODdamn Anerica and I believe that God did.

Somebody has to do it.

To quote another piece from The Hill via Breitbart: "In The Hill, Bernie Quigley writes that the future of the conservative movement is essentially the Tea Party movement, and Sarah Palin is the movement’s natural leader...If Obama wins this year, Palin will lead (against Christie/Bush) in the Republican primary in 2016."

I think Ryan was fine but I do agree that trying to make the economy the only issue was a bad idea. The economy is important obviously but not a day goes by when I don't think about the schools, border control, regulations, terrorism, government overreach, endless war etc.

My neighbor said it best when he said Romney seems to think all I care about is my paycheck but I'm terrified of the direction this country has gone over the last 30 years.

Problem was he couldn't win in his own backyard and he certainly didn't appear to have the fire in the belly necessary for the long haul. He saw the writing on the wall. I too liked Bachmann and Cain, but Michele barely retained her congressional seat and neither she nor Cain could possibly withstand the assault from the MSM.

I think we have a Republican House because the Democrats massed their strength to take the Presidency and the Senate. I don’t think they had as much money this time. So, they were smart and put it into fewer campaigns that would allow them to control one of the two chambers and the Presidency. Of course, they still control the old media. I think that what they accomplished was brilliant.

Yeah Cause if we just throw away all our principles on Gay Marriage

Illegal Immigration

Increased Taxation

Gun Control

We could get a Republican in the White House!

Because that is what this is all about isn't it? Getting a Republican who has abandoned all efforts to fight the Democrats and instead push Their Agenda.

As long as he has an "R" by his name, that is all that counts, Socialism is okay when Mitt does it.

Yeah I kinda figured you were one of those cowards who was fishing for a line of attack but didn’t quite have the manparts to do it outright.

BTW genius, Santorum was effectively out of the race by the time they got to PA.

You may go now.

Actually another one of my predictions came true as well.

I said that Romney would infuse the “moderates” with a sense of empowerment and now they’re all over FR screaming that we have to stop being racist give amnesty so all the illegals will love us. I even had some clown seriously tell me today that the GOP is finished if they don’t pander to atheists. LOL

Check this one out.

We gotta reach out to the secular coalition of America and one of their supporters tells me that we’re shoving religion down his throat by opposing abortion apparently.

See my Above Post 111.

Principles!?!?

Meh!

I wanted to beat Ann Coulter the other day with my Clue Stick when she was on Glenn Beck's Radio program, lamenting Goldwater's "Principled Stance" on opposing the 1964 Civil Rights acts, which cost him the election!

Oh Well, we got NIXON out of that deal and as we all know Richard Nixon was the best thing to ever happen to either us or the Republican Party.

With the EPA.

Wage and Price Controls.

Watergate

etc etc

The democrats lost a lot of ground in the states and on ballot proposals in them. Two more states flipped to GOP supermajorities. We crushed the world’s worst pro union ballot proposal in Michigan. A tea party supported candidate became governor of Indiana. In Michigan, Thad McCotter’s moderate seat went tea party. I do agree that they threw all their money at the white house and senate.

Personally I’d be pretty disappointed if I were a democrat.

They might be in the house but the conservative infestation of the foundation just keeps getting worse.

From what I've heard, she's either lying or stupid when she speaks of Goldwater's stance on the civil rights act. The reality is that Goldwater was probably OK with civil rights act until it became infected with crap that began to target private businesses and other personal rights.

Actually, Ryan wanted to take a broader approach, but Romney wouldn’t let him. Ryan is a big social issues person, and even wanted to go and speak in black areas about initiative, family, etc. But just about the day after he became the VP candidate, Romney or Romney’s advisors shut him down.

Romney wanted to run just on the economy, with no social issues (since Romney is a liberal on all of them), and he made Ryan stick to that. But contrary to popular opinion, the economy wasn’t really the issue: vision was, and Romney didn’t have it. Obama didn’t have a vision, but since Romney didn’t have one either, he presented no challenge and people decided to stay with what they knew. And, of course, large numbers of Obama voters voted for melanin, a truly puzzling political qualification that no argument would have been effective against.

Rubio is excellent, but Romney wouldn’t have let him speak either. Romney and his advisors had a truly myopic vision, focused on tiny economic questions, which they thought would be safe and keep them out of “social issues.” But in doing so, they seriously underestimated the American population, which was looking for a lot more than the new boss same as the old boss.
