Northeast FReepers who were affected by Sandy, please check in here when/if you have power to let us know your status. Tell us what, if anything, you need so we can organize help or get help to you. If you can, share your story with us. Tell us how you weathered the storm, what the condition is of your house or property, loved ones, pets, neighbors, etc.
You're in our thoughts and prayers. If we can help in any way, let us know!
Hugs, love and mega prayers, ((((NGZ))))

The posting OOOPS is getting me, so in case this posts 100 times, let me take this opportunity to thank you from my heart for this thread, dearest roomie, Tex!
I read the list you lovingly complied. God bless and keep you and everyone here.
Checkin ping. To everybody in the affected areas, I hope you made it through ok.
Best wishes to you and your families.
Thank you all very much.
We are OK and it took sometime to take care of things after a 6-day blackout and that included no water either (we’re on well water.) I enjoyed a long, hot shower, peeled a couple of layers of skin, laid my scalp on a table and scrubbed it with Clorox and shook myself spraying water all over the bathroom like a shaggy dog!
I tried to say hello but couldn’t log on till now.
Again, I appreciate the concern and thank God, we weren’t hurt.
Great tip. Thanks!
We from the South who have lived through many hurricanes know that it is the tornadoes spawned by the storms that do much of the damage. Glad to hear your family is safe, though I know it is inconvenient for all of you.
I left town for the Sunny South early last Wed. morning, for a weekend visit with family, but hubby told me there were Trick or Treaters on Wed. night, so things were back to normal for our area. .
Thanks onyx (((hug)))!!!! At work now. We got power back here sat, but no internet. This morning it works.
The boss isn’t in yet so I’m just taking a quick minute to say hi!!
OH, ONE THING....I WOULD LOVE TO SAY THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU 2 MEN WHO CAME ALL THE WAY FROM OHIO TO HELP (2 hot manly men I may add).
They came yesterday and took down the “culprit” that knocked out our block. My landlord offered them to stay (they have 2 fire places and gas stove). They said thank you but they weren’t allowed.
Suffolk County, Long Island checking in. Everyone OK, but still no power — Day 8. (Writing this from Daddy’s house.)
Regards,
“Now the earthquake however...”
You weren’t kidding!..........

I’m in Uniony County, New Jersey. We still dont have power but most of my town has power. Thank God for the gas fireplaces. They saved us!
I’m glad things are getting better!
Sounds somewhat like my ice storm ‘98 experience. That 6 days was made easier with the use of our woodstoves.
First laugh of the week, Tex. Yes, although we haven’t had heat or electricity for over a week (except some lights from our neighbor’s generator), we are fine. And so are our many pets. Thanks for asking! Miss Snotty M.
P.S.: I’m writing this from our Public Library.
Yea! Miss Snotty Dame has checked in!
Whew. You had me worried, girl. I’m glad you’re alive and mostly well. Do you have blankets? Any way to burn wood? Food for pets?
Need me to send a care package from Texas?
Hello miss marmelstein - I am happy to see you are doing well or fine- have been checking daily for your posts
Actually, Miss Snotty Pants has been reduced to eating her pets. Yuck!
Seriously, so far we are fine though without any power or heat. But I have a cord of wood left and plenty of eats. Unfortunately, we are due to be hit with another storm - not as severe as Sandy.
The devastation at the Jersey Shore (where I am) is horrendous. I can’t believe the damage. Chris Matthews needs to rot in hell for his comments.
But my husband and I are very, very lucky. By next week I should be back to being as snotty as ever as only a born and bred New Yorker can be. And hopefully you will always be a Texan.
Thanks for your concern, Tex!
Thanks for your concern, Nails. I’m fine. Just a little cold and low on gasoline.
Yes, Chrissy is a pathetic, despicable, Godless soul.
Batten down for Athena and don’t forget to check in afterward.
I’m looking forward to your snark. It’s one of your best features. ;p
In the meantime, stay safe and alert. I’ll be praying for you, your husband, and pets.
Love,
Your favorite annoying Texan
Still looking for word from trisham, GeeBee, Stag and Neets. Any updates for me?
