Curious if anyobe is seeing auroras. If so, and you feel like telling us, what is your position and latitude?
Still twilight here in the pacific northwest. But clear.
I kept my eyes open on the way north through Nashua, NH a short time ago but didn’t see anything.
Here it gets dark around 9:30pm but in the winter it starts getting ark at 3:30pm.
Days are starting to get shorter now though.

I used to date Aurora Schmeltzer back in the ‘60s (the decade not her age!)
No areolas either...
I sat on my honches for ten minutes while fixing my TV. When I stood up I definitely saw auras.
It does get dark here late. Day length in Seattle goes up to 16 hours on the solstice, sunrise at 5:11 and sunset at 9:11
But even this time of year, a few weeks after solstice, at 1 AM or so if you go out and it’s clear and moonless, you will STILL see a “trace” of morning light on the extreme northern horizon!
Of course the opposite is true during winter, when at winter solstice, the highest the sun gets in the sky - 19 degrees!
That’s like holding your fist at arms length!

Boston's pretty easily to get during the day.
New York is easy to hear at night. As early as 4pm in the winter.
Chicago's pretty good at night too.

DH said a little while ago that the Weather Channel (weather.com) had/ has a time lapse of the auroras on their website.
It would take a much bigger CME (or maybe some kind of variables that I’m unaware of) for me to see them since I’m in S Texas. Around Houston did get some good red skies back in 2003.
If you’re in northern Cali, I’d be outside (especially if higher elevation anyway). Spaceweather is showing the Bz is south, so it’s possible.
The admin at spacew.com has issued a warning for the middle latitudes & their little “lights” are showing strong for higher lats & possible for middle.

I have - when weather was good and I played around with my best AM receiver - gotten as far as LA.
Interesting that the receiver I’m talking about is an old portable b&w TV designed to run on batteries! One of those 5 dollar garage sale deals!
TV is worthless now since digital, but the most sensitive AM setup I’ve ever seen. If I was more ambitious, I’d yank it out, build a cabinet and toss in a power supply. Maybe in like 2315 when I don’t have nuthin else to do!

Just went out and Mars is way, way prominent!
But I gave my telescope away back in 2000... (6 in Meade reflector)...

I’m in Edmonton, Alberta.
I’m at a high enough altitude that I can definitely see them, if their out. But it’s cloudy tonight.
Oh you didn’t say California, but PNW. You may get some yet. Looks like the Cal/ Oregon border is right on the edge.
