Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino was fired on Tuesday for lying about his relationship with a 25-year-old female football program employee, ESPN reported.
The network cited multiple sources, and the University of Arkansas scheduled a press conference for 7:15 local time Tuesday.
Petrino was put on paid leave last week after he didn’t tell his boss right away that Jessica Dorrell, a former Arkansas volleyball player, was riding with him during an April 1 motorcycle accident. The 51-year-old Petrino, who is married with four children, also admitted to an inappropriate relationship.
What a weirdo. I remember when he snuck out of Atlanta in the middle of the night (left the Falcons coaching position). Good riddance in ATL, too.
He’ll be the new head coach at UTEP within two years and likely an assistant at a BCS school next season.

As a Razorback fan, I have to agree with this decision and move on. The question is, what now? We need integrity and honor restored. We need to bring Barry Switzer out of retirement.
