Noah, an orange and white tabby, began obsessing over his owners head last year.
In an interview with The Northern Virginia Daily, Janet Batten says, "He constantly smelled my head on the right side, in the front, and in my eye and in my nose. Sometimes he would really push to get into my head. He began to make this sound I had never heard before. I began to get suspicious.
At about the same time, Janet began to experience vision problems which led her to an appointment with her primary care physician and an ophthalmologist. But neither of these doctors examinations discovered any problems.
However a clean bill of health did not deter Noah from continuing his bizarre behavior. Thankfully Janet had a fearless feline hot on the case.
Several months later, Janet suffered a mini-stroke and an irregular heartbeat. A CAT scan was then ordered. The furless, high-tech metallic diagnostic machine revealed that Janet was suffering with a life- threatening brain aneurysm.
Even though Noah had absolutely no medical training, his intuition concerning Janets dangerous aneurysm was right on the money. The type of scan that Noah administered for sure is not generally part of the equipment found in imaging centers, and it is certainly not covered by health insurance.
Fortunately Janet's aneurysm has since been treated. It goes without saying she will be eternally grateful to her cat for letting her know that something was seriously wrong.
Dr. Bruce Coston, Noah's veterinarian, nominated Noah for the Animal Hero award at the Virginia Veterinary Conference this year. And he won. "Because Noah the cat had been alerting his mom that something was wrong, she was aggressive in seeking treatment, says Coston.

It’s not what you think! I got’em off a toilet seat. Maybe.
Kitteh disagrees.
Maybe I should see a doctor. My cats been walking around in a lab coat for the past week...
Better check your credit card bill too.
If she had insisted to the docs that her cat was absolutely obsessed with her 24/7, she would have had her head examined much sooner.
Animals instincts never cease to amaze me. I had an old dog who had cataracts in both eyes.
On our daily walks if he was approached by another dog, they would sniff both his eyes.
*rimshot*
Aww! I love that little guy.
There’s definitely quite a bit going on that we don’t understand yet.
Kitty smells the irregular blood flow and subsequent secretions/stagnations/inflamtion. Kittenz iz gud fixerz.
My cat doesnt like bacon but she does like the smell of soap and shampoo. When I come out of the shower shes all over me, particularly my hair.
Sortof reminds me of Oscar the cat at a nursing home up in New England. He would start hanging around patients shortly before they passed away.
“Noah had absolutely no medical training” - I smell a possible malpractice suit here. No, wait a minute, it’s just the cat box.

On one of the Judge shows the other day a women was being accused of not paying attention because she was driving with 12 cats in her car and getting in an accident.
She was doing pretty good in her defense (at least wasn’t coming across as a flaming idiot - says it was her daily routine) and had some backing till she said - “Well, since the accident the cats are traumitized” to which the Judge looked askance and rolled his eyes - the woman followed up with she was thinking of having to place them in therapy and, since she thought the other driver at fault, that she should pay for her cats therapy.
Rolling of eyes.
Case dismisssed.
Cat Group Therapy
“Muffin, do you have anything to contribute to the group?”
“Yes.....I had a very traumatic kittenhood.”
“How so?”
“My Mom never had any time for me.”
“Maybe that’s because you had eight other brothers and sisters in the same litter.”
“I could understand that, but she abandoned me for a ball of yarn! I hate sweaters!”
My first thought was "Is 'e from the Ministry of Housinge?"
Monty Python?
