KIRKLAND, Wash. Paul Wu was pulling his car out of the driveway and saw it.
I found a dog in my driveway which is unusual.
He looked at the small dog.
He would not go away, and I stop he comes up to me, he said.
Wu found a bag hanging around the dogs neck, carrying money, and a note.
Please take care of Mr. B. He is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Six years old. My parents got divorced and Mr. B was supposed to go to the pound. I think he has a better chance with you. This is my birthday money for any of his care. He is used to kids, not other dogs. Hes a good boy. I know God will take care of Mr. B Everyone loves him
especially me. Thank you.

Dude, that’s totally messed up.
Totally.
That’s a heartbreaking story, one I can personally relate to.
But yeah, the note sounds a little mature for a kid to have written.
Not to highjack the thread, but this kind of thing makes me wonder how many that write about “lead and bunkers” would be willing to turn away a pregnant woman or 11 year old waif that showed up at their compound. Either of which could be an infiltrator for the bad guys.
Could be both parents were moving into apartments that don’t allow pets. Or maybe with these hard times neither felt they could afford the dog any longer.
Tears....
How dare his parents put their refusal to get along before their child.
&&&
There is a big epidemic of that these days. The parents need to be slapped.
Divorce brings out the ugliest part of humanity often enough. Those wishing to hurt each other will often use children, pets, anything at all to do so. Doesn’t surprise me at all that the dog was losing his home in the divorce (happens all too often, especially if the house is being sold and one is “downsizing”) and I can certainly imagine a child being the only one who cared enough to try to find him a good home.
I knew a couple where the guy kidnapped (dognapped?) the dog and wouldn't return it until he got better terms.
I wish I could adopt the dog...AND the kid!
Some parents aren’t fit to be parents. That poor child will remember this for his/her entire life. There are some things you just don’t forget and for that child this is one of them. Too sad.
Kaylee he looks just like your Huett and my Julius! how heartbreaking!
Divorce= a cancer that eats families and erodes the foundation of civilization itself.
We adopted a yellow Lab under similar circumstances. The family’s parents were getting divorced and selling their house, and they were moving into apartments where they couldn’t keep pets.
Their young son wrote a letter to the other kids in his elementary school class, asking if anybody was able to adopt “Archie.” My wife showed me the letter, and we volunteered to give Archie a home. You could tell by the letter that the kid loved his dog; he even mentioned that Archie liked having his tummy rubbed.
So Archie lives with us, and seems pretty happy. He gets two hots and a cot, lots of attention and tummy rubs, and at least one long walk per day.
I was involved in Cocker Spaniel Rescue for many years. Oh, the stories I could tell. :(
I just called my husband int to hear the story and see the picture. Yes, our Huett down to the flipped back ear.
How is Julius doing?
