Went to my doctor for the first time in awhile and got some bad news. My A1C blood sugar was almost 12 and my blood pressure averaged about 190/110. They wanted to admit me right then and there, but instead gave me a shopping bag full of medications. Since my wife had her stroke I haven't really been taking care of myself and now it's come to a head. If I don't do a complete 180 I'll be dead before the year is out. I have committed to mall walking (exercising) seven days a week for 30 minutes a day and cutting my carbs and sugars drastically. Please pray for me or think of me as I try to save my own life. Thanks!
Prayers up. You are a valuable part of this place. I wish all the best for you and your wife.
Just the one? I’m on a cocktail of two drugs and I started out at 160/100.
Prayers your way. Beat this and get better. We can’t afford to lose you. You wouldn’t want to miss President Palin’s re-election, would you?
You will be in my regular prayers. God bless you and good luck. It sounds like you know what to do.
Prayers up my friend.
We need you - take care of yourself 2DV!
Prayers up for you! Take care of you - we need you here.
Prayers up for your wife, too.
Tell your doctor that you can do it and you want him to be proactive yet realistic. You must fight to change habits and try to relieve the stress. I pray for you.
Mike
Most of the diet and exercise advice here is quite good, applause for the FReeper health bureau.
In addition, may I humbly recommend a few minutes every day of prayer? Miracles happen, all the time and in every place under the sun, but only when God wills them.
I will keep you in my prayers, you are the age of my youngest sibling. Thank you for your service. You have many things yet to do. May Our Lord grant you good health and good spirits that you may live to see all of your tasks completed.
Get one of those pill dispensers that divide up into the days of the week so you don’t forget your meds. Prayers up.
Exercise is good for BP?
I took the liberty of adding Palin keywords. The whole tribe needs to see this post!!
51 is very young. I will certainly keep you in my prayers. You can do it! Walking, swimming, and eating right will do the trick!
Good luck with everything. Do what needs to be done.
Best wishes for you and your wife - may God help you become well. Cutting way, way down on sugar is very good - you soon (a few weeks) lose the taste for it, and remember that artifical sweeteners are pizen.
Prayers for you. All the best.
Definitely cross train.
You have my prayers. Get out there and start walking and eating right. It works, turned my health completely around.
Prayers up for you 2D.
My two cents.... give up the soft drinks and drink only distilled water.
Prayers up from here in IDaho my friend! May the Lord God bless and keep you in the palm of His hand. May hHe guide your footsteps and may He use your experience as a light and guide for others. May you be comforted...may you heal. And most of all, may His will be done and may you have the faith and strength to follow it in all things and be a light for Him and His Son...in Jeseus name!
Always remember, He has said that ALL things work together for the good of them that love the Lord. All things...even those things (and believe me, I know) that we might think are hard and difficult. I witness that they work together for us...if we will but love our Lord.
God’s speed my friend, may His peace beyond understanding be yours.
Hang in there vet! Get an iPad and FReep while you walk in the mall! You’re one of my favorite posters and I will be very irritated with you if you try and check out early.
