What movie do you love that most people never heard of or seen? Mine is a movie called "Evenhand". I first saw it on IFC, then ordered a copy from Amazon. It is about two policemen in a small Texas town. One is meek and kind while the other is hard. They form a unlikley friendship. It is more plot driven, with little violence. The writing is pretty good.
Told from a russian point of view and quite interesting.
The Story of Adele H Franclis Truffaut, d. Isabelle Adjani stars.
“TWINKY”
Made in the late 1940s, it was one of the first to deal with passing for “white” & treatment of African-Americans in the South.
If I recall, Lena Horne wanted the starring role but Hollywood wasn’t ready to hire a light-skinned black, even though she was physically perfect for the part.
another reason why I dislike that movie so much... geez, the guvner of California (one of the main targets of the satire) at the time was the same guy as we have today... it makes me ill...
Do you mean Castle of Blood?
Middle Age Crazy was great, too. I wonder why so many of these great films aren't on DVD. I nearly went mad trying to get the theme song (I love it). Today he's 40 years old, going on 20...
We have almost the same “president” too; different color, same stupidity.
Since you liked “Big Night”, you need to check out “Dinner Rush”. 91% on Rotten Tomatoes:

Very weird movie.
Early 80’s film “Eating Raoul”
Best line...”It’s amazing what you can do with a cheap piece of meat.”
Also enjoyed “The Wonder Boys” with Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand, Robert Downey,Jr and a very young Katie Holmes. Douglas should have won an oscar for his character portrayal.
Yes but because of the surprise ending seeing it the second time is not as good.
“Five Came Back”
I saw Don’t Look Now in the theater in the 70s. One of Sutherland’s best. To this day I won’t watch it again. I has one of the most devastating endings I ever experienced.
Celine and Julie Go Boating (1974) - IMDb. French Mobius movie. It’s very long, but fascinating. Not on Netflix.
A story about story-telling, Jacques Rivette’s self-referential classic centers on the fanciful world of two women literally lost in the stories they tell each other. Celine (Juliet Berto) and Julie (Dominique Labourier) go from sharing a story about a haunted house to being part of a story about a haunted house — or is it a real haunted house that has been called up by the story? The film blurs the line between the telling of the story and the story itself, as Celine and Julie, like Alice in ...

Tony Randall and Joanne Woodward are some of the stars. A great look at mid century suburbia.
A Simple Twist of Fate with Steve Martin, Gabriel Byrne, and Laura Linney
Big Fish with Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, and Billy Crudup
Oooo! A classic!
The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra!
The Farmer: Stay on this road here, past Dead Man’s Curve, you’ll come to an old fence, called The Devil’s Fence. From there, go on foot till you come to a valley known as The Cathedral Of Lost Soap. Smack in the center is what they call Forgetful Milkman’s Quadrangle. Stay right on The Path Of Staring Skulls and you come to a place called Death Clearing. Cabin’s right there, can’t miss it.
